It’s beyond shady. It’s unethical to talk someone into cancelling when you are delivering to others. Might not be the fault of the messenger as they probably meant no malice, but the higher ups or the system whoever decided this approach. 
 

And to think of it, this very thing could be 100x more in Feb. Not good karma to brutalise innocent customers in the name of your own ineptness.

Flipkart has messed up structure. My friends over there tell me how seniors enjoy a little too much power and hardly think about customer support and satisfaction. They are constantly told to focus on getting into new segments to drive up revenues and keep customer metrics on the backfoot. All that success and Walmart acquisition has gone to their head.

Somebody(you?) had mentioned "delivery sla"s, and I think that might just be it. XSX or whatever, it could be their standard policy to get the customer to cancel the order whenever the delivery gets screwed up.

Yes. I just saw someone in the US getting their PS5 cancelled while it was out for delivery. 
 

In your case, it’s probably in hindsight not even the SLA because everyone else got it. They perhaps had not made up their mind fully on the final approach as your luck was bad they baited you of all people. Something must’ve triggered an alarm to management about forcing customers to cancel = bad PR which is why they stopped and started delivering as soon as they had stock. 
 

Sucks but that’s shitty and a gross violation of the trust a customer puts in an e-commerce portal by paying full amount upfront more than 2 months ahead.
