Argument is nothing like replaceable batteries in phones. Did you keep replacing batteries in phones to charge them separately?

This argument is like preferring walkman over ipods when it comes to charging the devices.

I always bought a spare battery in case I ran out. I do the same with my controller. I only charge the batteries once in 2 weeks because they last that long.

Again, I understand you guys have a preference. It's quite obvious seeing how we discuss this topic every couple of months. But I hope you can agree that people with different preferences do exist, right? So, let's just agree to disagree.

No point. There were people here who were arguing during ps4/xbox one  that having a seperate power brick outside the console is better than an internal power brick. :giggle:

Yes I remember that. They will find pros in every thing MS does. They are ultimate unpaid sheep. Now watch the U turn if series x controller has a rechargeable battery built-in.

I'm actually one of those people but my reason is completely different. It only applies because MS were stupid enough to not provide a universal power supply for 3 generations. I always buy out-of-region consoles and always ended up in a shot power supply at least once in a generation. It was easier to replace the incompatible power supply with a compatible one. I had to do it for the 360 and the X1.

Of course, had they not made the decision of differing voltages, having an external power supply would be the last thing I cared about.

Always with the insults.

If they make controllers with sealed batteries, what option would the users have anyways but to swallow that pill. Also, you obviously know that there's going to be a huge percentage of players even on PlayStation that prefer replaceable batteries but don't have that option?

I mean it's good that you have a preference but to ridicule other people's choices is just weird man.

Let them give plug and play kit built in, and then do the survey about how many use rechargeable batteries instead of the free plug and play kit. Pretty sure most will stick with plug and play.

Original elite controllers had replaceable batteries, the newer (series' 2) controllers have inbuilt.

Yes, they went with modern way with elite controller 2. Maybe Series X will have same type of charging, except Halo infinite edition controller because it should remain old school according to graphics

Sure, I agree. But I'm not discussing things here that aren't possible. I'm only discussing what is. Since they aren't planning to bundle the play and charge kits, for me personally, the next best choice is replaceable batteries. Your choice is obviously different and that's okay.

I mainly use my DS4 for all kinds of gaming, even PC gaming, only flaw it has is the buttons etc are delicate af and crap out after 2-3 years of normal use.

Xdabba controllers are built like tanks, but this bullshit aa battery chutiyapa should be thrown out.

Such a lust for selling this 3.5k rechargeable battery pack

3.5k for rechargeable battery pack, 5k for controller

The bigger question is why is a controller releasing in 2020 still use AA batteries

I know it is backwards, but, I would love to be able to throw in a couple of high capacity AA batteries in the DS4 when it runs out of juice.

The inbuilt battery backup is terrible and I sincerely hope they improve it in DS5 (they likely won't).

You can. There is 3rd party addon rechargeable battery that can be charged. It barely takes any space.

Actually an external Psupply would be easier to replace if it went bust. :fear:

the meme about the brick was that the xbone was basically a VCR, underpowered, and yet they couldn't put the powersupply inside, they had to make ugly power brick for ugly vcr console

That's another can of worm. Really, how difficult is to build a Universal power supply?

I remember people buying step-down voltage regulators back in X360 days.

Thing is people will always find a workaround or make peace with way things are. But good design is which doesn't force them to.

A "consumer-friendly good design" will be a step ahead and won't cost people an extra dime on top of what they already have, and that's what companies should aim for.

MS did a lot of chindigiri in 360 days, they used to give those VCD player red-yellow display cables which give you 480p output and you have to buy separate cables if you want 720p and yet they were not HDMI. For HDMI, you have to buy 360 Elite.

PS3 used to come bundled with HDMI cable. :)

Holup!! Any link please??

Not able to find the popular one, but here is an example:

https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/surge-surge-powerpack-battery-pack-charging-cable-for-ps4-dualshock-4-controllers-sg20003/10534753

The popular one was 12 usd something. It almost comes up to same price as charge+rechargeable batteries.
