Nothing is coming to GamesPass without taking permission from Ubisoft & Sony as explained by me many times before.

 

COD Sony contract runs until 2024 & Ubisoft has price parity streaming rights to all content.

Only after Sony contract runs out can M$ put COD on GamePass & god knows what sort of deal Ubisoft has got.

 

If M$ release Activision-Blizzard content for cheap to undercut rest of the market then why would Ubisoft even take these licenses & sell it to someone else!!

 

It’s a lot more complicated now than the ones cheering this deal in hopes of freebies can comprehend!!

Sony has a contract with COD still running.

Till that ends those games can’t be put on any other subscription unless Sony allows (probably by taking those games on PSplus simultaneously)!

Coz there were lot of hurdles in this acquisition compared to bethesda which was a gurantee. Work with ABK starts now compared to bethesda which would have have started much earlier.

There is no date for 2024 either.

 

Why wait all this while to add basic stuff that’s already part of PSplus?!?  

 

This is definitely not as smooth as envisioned(by M$) & Hoped(By Fans).

 

 

They have to let Sony out of the picture….device a plan to somehow cater to the Ubisoft deal…..also evade the watchdogs who are eyeing the undercutting scenario aswell as the Investors who want to see an ROI on every penny spent!!

 

 

I think it’s safe to say that freebies will be a thing of the past very soon.

But yeah as always..time will tell….

First, you will see backwards compatibile games drop, then new games will come. Bethesda games were added same way.

 

Sony had contract for Current MW3 and that contract ends next year.

Diablo 4 and other games had marketing deal with MS and same goes for Overwatch 2, plus it's free to play now. So adding free to play game in GP doesn't make any sense.

 

Overwatch 1 not supported anymore by Blizzard. So i doubt it will ever come.

 

 

Also keep in mind deal is closed. But still there are lot of formalities to be done. Its not like one flip of a switch will add everything to gamepass. From 2024 you will see massive drop of old and current gen Activision games.

Overwatch 2 has a paid campaign now.

Which would have been a nice addition to GamePass just like Halo Infinite campaign that puts it apart from F2P component.

 

Also Diablo 4 having a marketing deal with M$ itself is stopping them from putting it on their own ecosystem?!?

COD from 2014 onwards had a marketing deal with Playstation so the games released in these years can’t be put on GamePass before PSplus.

So yeah that could be reason for none of the COD showing up.

 

But games like Tony Hawk,CrashB1-4 which are already part of PSplus & Overwatch 2 campaign & Diablo 2,3 & 4 not showing up is strange & could be because they have to sort things out with Ubisoft as regulators,federal courts & govt. watchdogs along with M$’s own investors are still eying this merger very closely.

 

Everything points towards an end where freebies will most likely end.

 

$18 blanket price for GamePass & probably even higher priced tier that includes COD.
