Microsoft earning report

https://www.pocketgamer.biz/microsoft-reports-701bn-in-q3-revenue-as-demand-for-ai-tools-increase/

Microsoft's revenue reached $70.1 billion in Q3 FY2025, a 13% year-over-year increase.

The company's latest financials showed that operating income rose 16% to $32bn, while net income climbed 18% to $25.8bn.

Moreover, diluted earnings per share also grew by 18% to $3.46, reflecting the company’s growth momentum across its business segments.

On the gaming front, revenue grew 5% year-over-year, with Xbox content and services revenue up 8%, while PC Game Pass revenue grew over 45% year-over-year.

Gross margin dollars in the segment rose 9% as margin percentage improved by 2 points year-over-year, supported by efficiency in Gaming and Search.

Furthermore, operating income surged 21%, reflecting a focus on higher-margin opportunities despite a modest 1% increase in operating expenses. PC Game Pass revenue also grew over 45% year-over-year.

I see. With a string of quality games in Gamepass, they think that people will buy.

You can play those games on gamepass PC. Now if you dont have PC and you intersted in getting gamepass to play those games rather than buying them individually at 70$ each, then i can understand price increase really bad for those people.

Anyway, this doesn't affect Indian gamers much as Indian gamers are more into PC and PS ecosystem. Price increase is only for NA, EU and Australia.

No word on Xbox Game Pass revenue increase or decrease!!

How convenient!!

Obviously even a small fraction of $1 back door subscribers now subscribe at the new $20 rates then it will reflect a massive percentage of revenue increase!!

Saaley tu gadha hai. Doosra pappu hai tu.

Revenue toh increase hua naa saaley. Doesn't matter if Revenue increase is from PC,Xbox or PS.  Digital revenue increased by 8% and Gamepass PC increased by 45%.

Ye dekh

https://www.tweaktown.com/news/104910/pc-game-pass-revenue-up-45-xbox-games-now-reach-over-500-million-monthly-active-users/index.html

When revenue is up, you expect company to shut down service. Waah  .

Gamepass is now more popular on PC while Xbox hardware goes down.

MS completely going towards multiplatform all digital services based business.

The 80$ is only gonna help in case of cod. I’m not sure if there are any other MS first party that can command this value

All big games will be 70-80$. This is done to move people towards gamepass.

MS knows Majority people will play them via gamepass anyway.  This price hike will move PC and xbox gamers both towards Gamepass completely for MS games and other 3rd party dayone gamepass games. Gamepass already saw 45% growth on PC since last year. PC and PS5 owner will play Doom on PC via gamepass over PS5 unless PC is very weak.

Ubisoft Pro also saw increase in subscribers for AC shadows.

Im just waiting on Sony to make games 80$. Mazaaz jab aayega

Nothing commands an 80 $ value to be honest ,no nintendo games no sony games and no cod also. The increase is too steep that too within a generation. Kids now days prefer mobile games as it is ,traditional gaming on consoles and pc will reduce IMO considering even long time gamers like us are beginning to turn our backs on day 1 games and primarily dependent on free to play games.
