Every Gaming PC is essentially a Windows SKU….& that’s exactly where they are getting at.

 

”Windows” is the number 1 Gaming platform for them….not an Xbox.

 

It’s good for ppl who will buy it…
I’m sure only the most hardcore leftover Xbox Fans will buy this OEM.

Rest of the hardcore gamers will switch to PC & Core gamers will switch to Playstation.

 

Just like SteamD,ROG Ally,LegionGo etc can’t compete with Switch 2.
This thing won’t be able to compete with PS6.

Yeah. Next Xbox console needs to have following features  -

 

-Better user friendly U.I

- Option to play all Xbox and Series games under playanywhere. 

- Seamless access to Multiple stores like Steam within Xbox store.

- It cant be top expensive. It needs to be much cheaper than similar specs Windows PC.

-Powerful hardware with good AI resolution scaling tech.

-Widely available.

Ya lot of clarity needed ,dont know what ponies are crying when now xbox is fully 3rd party. How does it matter ? If xbox hardware exists or not ,clearly ms is not competing in the same way. 
 

Also next holiday launch seems possible now with this announcement. Could be a possibility with gears,forza,fable,cod and halo 1 remake as launch or launch window titles.

It's a good approach for Xbox imo, they get to boast access to both Xbox and PC titles.

 

But why would any dev waste their time, money, resources and effort to make an Xbox version of their game, when the PC port would work on next gen Xbox console??

And we all know how well optimized most PC ports are, especially on low end to mid cards. The console will be one config, mostly average specced that can't be upgraded. They can have higher spec but that means higher price, in which case consumer could simply get a fully fledged PC.

 

This approach sounds good on paper, but I have a bad feeling this will be Xbox's 5th consecutive failed generation. Hope I'm wrong.

This is not even an attempt towards anything!!

 

This is them quitting the proprietary business & this is the easy way out by offloading all of its Digitally sold Xbox library onto PC.
Coz otherwise there will be legal trouble if they shut shop cold turkey.

 

This is not Sega & Atari’s era where they’d just say goodbye all of a sudden.

 

Hopefully by the time it’s Sony’s time to shut shop…things should be long gone into the clouds.
