Crazy sad news ,gamepass will be the next casualty .I think they will drag gamepass to entice people to buy the nextgen console 1-2 years into the cycle and then either cancel it or somehow manage to get it in other consoles with only its 1st party content.

 

Gamepass day are numbered IMO ,so make the most of it till it lasts.

It’s not a next gen console….it’s a f**ckin PC for gawd sakes!!

 

Next Xbox will be strictly for its hardcore longtime fanbase & sort of an introductory package to introduce them into PC gaming.
Basically a gamble to make the Windows Gaming market increase instead of Playstation units once ppl start to migrate.
GamePass is the key factor in this push yes,30m or so ppl will migrate somewhere…so why not package a PC & make them feel at home with the new Xbox App Windows UI.

It’s a risk worth taking….but most will migrate to PS5….unless they do some magic with optimisation of games on their new PC.

How they handle optimisation would be the key along with the pricing.
I hope they have a dedicated team to optimise settings for their device.

Kinda like the Backwards & Forwards compatibility teams they built.

Oh & also btw the Call Of Duty community already cussing GamePass as multiple COD studios namely Raven got squeezed & they just delivered one of the Best Campaigns in years!!!!

 

Many other gamers who were anticipating their revered games are also following.

80 billion dollars investment in AI infrastructure is the reason behind Layoffs.  Layoffs amongst every sector of Microsoft. MS gonna use this AI in games in big way, so more layoffs coming.

 

Apparently Microsoft completely exited Pakistan. They even not supporting Windows there. I mean why would anyone even setup business in that sh1t country

Dont think so. Gamepass will never be killed. This is the only selling point for Xbox now. They killed those projects which were in development hell for long time and had to be rebooted multiple times.

 

In last financial earnings call. MS revealed this -

Revenue going up. So cancellation doesn't make sense yet.

 

MS will quit gaming completely if they have to kill Gamepass. They will kill xbox hardware before gamepass.

Sony cut 1000 jobs few months back or last year and closed down multiple studios along with 12 projects cancelled but not outrage when Sony cuts jobs smh

Microsoft made big profit in last fiscal year and Satya Nadella pay got increased to 50m dollars and still this bloodboth happened.

 

Apparently Microsoft and Open AI partnership is ending and MS feels they will lose established infrastructure of open AI. So in fear of lagging behind in AI, Satya announced massive 80b dollars investment in MS own AI infrastructure which resulted in layoffs in other areas.

From 80 b in Activision and then 80b in AI.

 

MS spent over 160b dollars in last 5 years and they need to recoup money. So any projects which were in development hell or taking too long will be axed along with studios.

There is no such thing as an Xbox in reality anymore.

Buzz word only being used so that suddenly the current Xbox instal-base don’t migrate to Playstation.

They would want more & more of those to stick with Windows Platforms while Sony would want more to migrate to Playstation.

 

Activision-Blizzard-Zenimax are the new lead M$ gaming companies & they would have released these games irrespective of the ownership change.

 

M$ Windows will be the lead Gaming platform & the above mentioned gaming companies will be the lead Gaming Software producers which will be available everywhere.

 

Think of GamePass to be soon like EAplay,Ubi+ & all once the said migration is complete.

AI is one thing. On the other hand GP is clearly not bringing in enough subs, nor making any or enough money to keep funding these expensive first party games.

Its not surprising MS forced Xbox to go third party, and now shutting many of their studios and games in dev hell. Almost 100Billion investment, pouring money in some games that's been in development for ages and nothing to show for it. Makes sense that they're delving into AI, cutting losses and trying to make xbox turn profit for a change.

Downside we'll see more layoffs, 9000 was just for now. Same guy who leaked Xbox games going to PS long before everyone else, said there will be more layoffs as they integrate AI into more departments.
