It's a janky, unpolished title back from when SP weren't a first party studio, had limited budget , were a small studio and had massive difficulty working with the PS3 (cell). Personally it's the best title in the series esp the story and mission design, had a big impetus on platforming unlike sequels which became more and more action oriented. AnK Posted September 23, 2021 Report Share Posted September 23, 2021 It’s not Respawn’s fault actually in a way it is but if ppl don’t play something it’s not going to return It launched exclusively on a platform which was universally hated at that time & PC crowd was never into their previous games (COD) Hardly anyone bought an XBoxOne console during it’s first few years….not until BC & GamesPass was a thing EA (& Respawn) made a big mistake of selling exclusive rights to M$ without doing a market survey & to top all of that,the sequel was crushed in between BF & CoD launch there couldn’t have been a worse time to release it for the first time on PS when ppl already saw it as an Xbox franchise Only if they had not made these mistake & it had a proper long lasting content support it could have been something today & Apex would have been the smaller brother like warzone is to CoD Bad luck…. The deal was probably signed years before the launch when 360 was in its prime ,no survey or market research could have predicted what happened at the xbox one reveal and onwards.
