Fumito Ueda expecting to announce his game in 2023.

Been waiting since forever, love their games.

Hopefully this one doesn't keep him getting pushed like last guardian. Dude is pretty good at tugging heartstrings, both last guardian and SoTC were surprisingly emotional despite having very little dialog.

The Last of Us Part 3 Is In The Works – Despite What Reports Say

According to a new rumor shared by Theleak, The Last of Us Part III is already in development with the PS6 in mind, and of course the PS5 as well, so it shouldn't arrive until the end of the generation.

In a recent interview, Neil Druckmann claimed that Sony isn't pushing Naughty Dog into creating The Last of Us Part III, but it appears those claims are untrue.

We have rumors about the development of a third game, and the fact that the budget depends on the success of the show, but these rumors are not yet guaranteed.
Neil Druckmann had also previously stated that a story line had been written. Now, our source at Sony (who previously leaked the first information about the PS5 Slim) has confirmed that it is indeed in development.

Internally Sony classifies the title as "in progress" with Naughty Dog as developer, and the game is categorized as a Playstation 5 release, with "Playstation 6 in mind"

Metro Exodus Sequel Reportedly Fully Playable, Could Be Revealed Later This Year for 2024 Launch

According to a rumor published by Tom Henderson on Insider Gaming, a Metro Exodus sequel is reportedly fully playable at developer 4A Games. As a result, the article posits a potential reveal later this year and possibly a launch in 2024.

During today's post-earnings webcast, Embracer Group CEO Lars Wingefors did mention an unannounced triple-A game to be released in the fiscal year 2023/2024. However, we would be very surprised if he was referring to this Metro Exodus sequel. That would mean a launch before the end of March 2024, whereas the public update shared by 4A Games in late January painted a bleaker picture of all the hardships of game development in the middle of the war (most employees are still located in Ukraine). The studio also outright said the real life events would influence the Metro Exodus sequel.

The next Metro game is also changing for the better. And not simply because of the circumstances we find ourselves in. We’ve never hidden the fact that the Metro series has always carried a strong political and anti-war message. Yes, we’ve always wanted to entertain and immerse you in our post-apocalyptic world but there’s also been a bigger story to tell. And the war in Ukraine has made us re-think what kind of story the next Metro should be about. All the themes of Metro – conflict, power, politics, tyranny, repression – are now part of our daily life experiences. So, we’re embracing them and weaving them into the game with a renewed purpose.

EXCLUSIVE – PS5 PRO IN DEVELOPMENT, COULD RELEASE LATE 2024

https://insider-gaming.com/ps5-pro-in-development/

Insider Gaming sources have confirmed that the PS5 Pro is in development and could release with a tentative release date of late 2024.

Insider Gaming previously reported that a new PlayStation 5 with a detachable disc drive is scheduled to release later this year. It’s understood that this new model will phase out the current PlayStation 5 to cut down on production and shipping costs. In spite of the widespread reports, this is not the PS5 Pro model.

This is “just the beginning of new hardware coming to PlayStation users this generation”, said one source when talking about the detachable disc drive console.

As for what the PS5 specs will entail, details are limited. However, a recently-published patent by PlayStation architect Mark Cerny (spotted by @Onion00048) suggests that Sony Interactive Entertainment is looking to “accelerate” ray tracing performance in video games.

Just like with the PS4 to the PS4 Pro, we can generally guess pretty confidently that the PS5 Pro will have increased visuals, performance, and speeds. But as for leaked details, we’ll have to wait until a later date to release those.

Insider Gaming understands that the next generation of the PlayStation, the PS6, is unlikely to release until at least 2028. This would put the current generation console release schedule in line with its predecessors.

In February, industry insider Jeff Grubb said during the Game Mess Decides podcast that Sony was planning to host a new PlayStation Showcase “before E3”. Although Insider Gaming cannot corroborate this report at this time, we do anticipate that it’s very likely that a showcase is on the horizon to show off games including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and talk about its new hardware coming towards the end of 2023.

As for if the PS5 Pro makes sense remains to be seen. The current generation console market has seemingly only just stabilized following the chip shortages and developers still need to release past-generation to sell more units. Sony is expecting a massive FY23 for console units sold though (of around 30.5 million units), so a massive phasing out of past-gen games in Spring 2024 is logical.

TBH I don't think we need a semi versions of current gen consoles. This gen has barely begun!
