XBOX STREAM BOX PROTOTYPE LEAKS IN THE WILD

Xbox-Streaming-Box.jpg?mrf-size=m

For devices that are not capable to stream on their own

Or most likely something like Stadia+ to provide 4K streaming easily

M$ is all in on streaming it seems

Reaffirms the fact that Microsoft’s main competitor is not even Sony. At least in the long run.

Actually Sony was the first one to enter the streaming market

They just lacked the infrastructure & the funds to penetrate the market,

their biggest USP was their library which they put at the forefront but realised without market penetration they can’t take it anywhere & they were way ahead of their time to do anything meaningful with it

Google tried with its robust infrastructure but again lacked a market penetration risk investment plan, along with the lack of self owned library of course

M$ is risking a lot of investment for it unlike the other two, I hope it pays off & core gaming only grows further

Google is absolutely terrible at executing or scaling up any product of their own which is aimed at end users.

More than the execution, it's about how people feel about the service in general. It's meant for certain types of games (where frame drops don't matter) and mostly for casuals..

The world is not ready for streaming (yet) is what I feel.

Streaming will always have an audience. It’s like watching a movie on your small mobile phone, as opposed to doing it on a big TV.

Interested people do it for convenience/portability, but many  avoid it altogether because of the lack of immersion and fidelity.

Else stadia would have picked up some traction.

Streaming is not meant to be a replacement. It's a complementary service with convenience at it's core.

Yeah. I'm not gonna replace my XSX with xcloud but it's a nice add on for when I'm out and about which might make me keep the sub running.

Yep. I bought the Switch mainly for portability. If XCloud worked in India, I most likely wouldn't need it.

If handheld systems like steam deck become popular, they might eat into the share of consumers who might seek game streaming.

Every random person with a mobile phone won't stream games. Those who do, might go for the handheld devices for on the go gaming.

Agree, it's inevitable that there's going to be a market for it if it's as convenient as Netflix.  There are quite a few parallels that can be drawn between the two.

I would play all three games once more especially Vice City. Tommy vercetti is one of my favorite characters.

However, I think R* themselves told RDR code is like a shack held on by duct tape so they won't risk a remake. Hope I am wrong.

I guess if its a remake they would make it from scratch (or near scratch) so they would not have to deal with the code.

Plus they've built the entire goddamned map already in RDR 2 except Mexico. Animations and all would have to be done again anyways.

YEAH. WTF was that about? The whole area west of Blackwater goes completely unused for the story. Weird af.

My bad, I meant they won't risk a remaster. Remake is fine.

Only thing which they can reuse are the voice files and mocap maybe for cutscenes.

I forgot about this. They did remake everything so its a possibility.

They planned to use it for an RDR remake as a DLC for RDR2 methinks

But then that RDR2 Online moolah started flowing in, and as with GTA5 SP DLC they realised there's no need, money is rolling in anyway

Can't wait, was thinking of replaying gta PS2 Trilogy anyways for a while, now will get this for ps4 and play instead :D

Same with RDR1, never got to it, skipped PS3-gen consoles.
