I think as a console gamer I always go for 30fps & higher fidelity in huge games with massive set pieces or worlds 

& 60fps at lower fidelity in games that require pristine skill

 

The option wasn’t really present up until PS3/4 & was only made available with Pro

 

 

& I don’t think this option will last much longer as games get more & more taxing 

so better not to ruin yourself with playing every game at 60fps

Depends. If 30fps is done right (good motion blur helps a lot) and looks vastly better than the 60fps counterpart, then 30fps would be my choice..

But as time passes the games that don’t will kinda tempt the developer to flex the muscle of his creativity rather than opt for something that is not required to present his true vision 

 

It has always happened historically at some point 

But yes maybe PS5pro or XBSXL will become available options by then 

just like PC gamers get an option early on 

 

I think the midgen Console refreshes are the only way things will stick to 60 for us peasants

Higher fpses are helpful when you play competitively.. and shooters ofc.

60fps has always been the gold standard for competitive & skill based games 

& it will remain so forever 

 

But titles like Witcher,RDR,Horizon or even heavy set pieces graphics hitters like ND games will always opt for 30fps when the time comes 

coz they prefer their creative vision over performance

All Simulators have been 60fps since PS2 

Arcade racers again due to the nature of fast action on screen were always 30

Started RnC 2016 with a Pro at 30fps 

 

it’s not a super fast game, so 30fps is just fine

 

for rift apart, I’ll most likely prefer highest fidelity, even if at 30fps - the game is not fast enough to make 60fps necessary
