ZooZoo
If they have slapped a Marvel license on it, replaced Frey with DR Strange then these same reviewers would've been singing praises for it. Granted that writing is pretty bad at times and cringy but in a game 80% is gameplay which is pretty darn fun and innovative and yet most of these pesky reviewers are ignoring it. Hopefully ff16 can redeem them but they have had back to back Ls in 2022. Crisis core reunion and Star ocean 6 received great reviews but I don't think the sales were high enough. I've been playing Star Ocean 6 and it's really fun. Gameplay is really fun with how fast it is and DUMA addition - which increases the speed and verticality of combat. The story and gameplay is also reminiscent of Star Ocean 2 - which is really good. It will be really sad if SO6 did not do well. But SE was SE and gave it an absolutely amazing release date. Christmas Period - 2 Days before Call of Duty MW2 and 1 Week before God of War Ragnarok. It went on sale within 1 month. It's a sad situation that a game that would have done well if released on Jan - might have done so badly. Valkyrie Elysium was boring though. Played the demo, game was completely empty and boring. Main Games for SE would be FF16 and FF7-2 I guess. If these 2 bomb - then SE is in really serious trouble. They might as well just be an FF14 MMO Company and nothing else. Since announcement this game was marketed as a combat and traversal focused but majority had over the top expectations. The graphics and sadly the story isn't the selling point here. There are many other barren games like nier automata which got amazing reviews but this somehow getting thrashed. The combat needs some practice to get used to and I assume 80% of the ones who tried the demo didn't bother.

Many other games get away with the excuses reviewers gave for this game. This game probably has one of the most innovative combat in years and graphics look stunning on PC. Writing is cringy but they let it slide for Immortals Fenyx by calling it funny dialogue and a fresh take other than assassins creed while Forespoken gets trashed for it. Thing is - Nier Automata also had a mind-blowing story, amazing music, and really good side quests - that complimented that "Barren Open World", which itself was a part of the story. This in addition to really innovative genre-bending gameplay and an amazing twist at the end that I don't think had ever been done in gaming before. I don't think Forspoken does all those things. The barren world in automata is similar to Forspoken is what I meant there. Forspoken barely does what Nier automata did, not comparing the whole structure but a part of it. I've platinumed Nier automata and now playing Forspoken, the traversal in automata was somewhat boring while it's fun in Forspoken. The combat is unique in both, but i feel the level of uniqueness in Forspoken combat is higher than what we experienced in automata.

playstationdude
They have time to release a DLC but not the patch. Awesome
playstationdude
Finished it over the weekend, around 15 hours if you skip the side quests and exploration. Its really bland visually, and story is pretty thin. Having said that, gameplay is where this game shines, the traversal using parkour abilities is amazing and really fun when you chain different abilities and hop over floating rocks. Combat is also pretty fun, the demo did not do justice to that at all. It's pretty structured and you get enough time to get used to 1 set of abilities before being introduced to another. I would definitely recommend giving this a go. Had a lot of fun and its not very demanding of your time.
