That could be for 2 reasons - Sony is greedy and want people to subscribe to the service and will wait till the last min. or they want to avoid confusion and don't want people who have PS + Extra to buy the game and then face all the refund requests later... The purchase option for TMNT was available only on the day of release. IIRC, it was at 4:30 AM or 5:30 AM IST. Basically, midnight GMT.
