Yeah probably because doing procedural in AAA is hard. Pre-made worlds take so long to load, imagine the system trying to randomize and build it. Unless you have something simplistic like Diablo or NMS it was probably not possible before.

For us yeah, but for the small team at housemarquee,  it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to make the next big sony IP. for all their amazing games they've made , they're yet to get a big hit. Atleast sony are confident and Herman hulst introduced this as their new franchise at the event.

i think no man's sky was the only mainstream game which did this and many who played complained the procedural generated levels were boring :-/
