Arkane must've put a clause in exclusivity contract about marketing Deathloop.

 

Sony did pushed it pretty hard.

 

It's a AAA game from a developer that has cult following.

 

They would have had a lot of leverage. Third party AAA exclusives are said to be ridiculously expensive.

No no, on console its 30%.

Epic doesn't take cut from console sales. They only take 12% from their own platform (Epic Game Launcher) sale. So 12% on PC.

Sony doesn't have special pricing for indie devs...there's been lots of reports that they were very uncooperative.

There are some models.. 

One is one time expenditure of engine licensing to certain studio. Studios pays a big amount.
One is royalty free unless the game makes 1 million dollar profit. Then studio have to pay 5% of the profit.
And few others I'm not so sure about.

2nd one is applicable for indie devs. Epic is very cooperative with Indie studios...very VFM and profitable for Indies...thus, most of the indies and some AAA games launches on Epic Game Launcher first then comes to Steam 1 year later. Devs gets big money for that 1 yr exclusives, plus, they get all the perks from EPIC for using their engines.

It gets a little better once you unlock rot mechanics and the bow. But yeah, gameplay isn't really a strong point.

I find it perfectly serviceable though. Would advise playing on hard for a little challenge.

 Just because Deathloop was promoted on live event don't mean Kena wasn't. PS handles, Herman, Shui all were promoting it almost daily

Yeah and the boss fights are quite decent and fast paced..
