I've started my second playthrough after finishing it all those years ago on PS4. Game looks stunning and much better than many games released recently. Gameplay in some parts felt dated though. Specially the vertical traversal but looks like they have sorted it out in Forbidden West. I saw the uncharted thieves collection remastered comparison and they should be a meltdown for that. Only differences are better frame rates and adaptive triggers. The Meltdown happened coz they promised free Crossgen upgrade for Spider-Man,Sackboy & HorizonFW in an interview & then didn’t offer one for HorizonFW. They openly confirmed that since they had verbally promised it,they will stick to their words for this final free offering. Apart from or beyond this every game will be a $10 upgrade. Even now if you look closely the free upgrades are being segregated between what’s in demand & what’s not. GTA5,BF42,FIFA,COD,DMC5,Control,Uncharted,GoT,Spider-Man etc all are charging for upgrades coz they are popular & in demand. If a company feels it’s offering something premium & in-demand then it is treating it differently. I don’t want to pay for upgrades as no one would….but labelling it as a “Sony has changed” thing is foolish. It’s just that makers of not so premium games(or some who are in desperate need of goodwill) who have changed for the good. Third party example:-Metro Redux was a fully paid upgrade when moving generations but now Exodus is a totally free upgrade coz at times developer realises their priorities.
