~25 hours and still loving it so far. It indeed feels like I'm on a trip with a bunch of mates lol. The new guy is such a great character, and Haru actually got some great character development! Had the chance to take someone out for a date, chose Makoto lol

~35 hours in and I think the trip is coming to an end. Going to take it slow for now 'cause I am not ready to say goodbye to the gang yet.

Also, the combat has really grown on me. I was worried that It would start getting monotonous after the hours I've put in but it had the opposite effect. As I unlocked more combos and skills, It began to get even more fun to pawn on enemies. The boss fights too have been amazing so far, and the music is as classy as ever. P5/P5R has a fantastic OST (personally one of the best in gaming) and this game holds well against its predecessor in that regard.

I'm a bit biased, but this is already my GOTY. Unless Atlus goes wam and releases P6 this year, the seal is set.

No way, Persona mainline releases are pretty far apart always.

Not necessarily. Persona 3 released in the West in 2007. Persona 3 FES released in the West in 2008. Persona 4 released in the West in December 2008. It was only then that the gaps started. Golden released in 2012 for Vita, Persona 4 Arena and Arena Ultimax in 2012/2013 and Persona 5 released in 2016/2017. That delay I blame on the transition to HD and the fact that Atlus used to be a small studio owned by an investment company before SEGA brought them.

There is a chance, now that the spin-offs are done, that Persona 6 might release soon (After SMT 5 is finished). Atlus does not have the 3DS to fall back on any more where they can keep on regurgitating similar games. It will either have to be Switch/PS4 or nothing. Since both are in the same gen, they might as well get to work.

I still don't think P6 will come soon because the development timelines are only going to get longer but would love to be proved wrong though.

The Dire shadows in each dungeon are so damn tough. I basically had to spam the skills to target their weaknesses and consume a lot of items to get through them. Most of them were able to KO a party member in under 2 hits. Pretty fun though.

Finally got the time to finish the final stretch of the game. Took about ~52 hours.

Goodbyes are always tough, and this one wasn't different. The group of P5 is one of the best parties in gaming. Their chemistry feels just right, like a group of real friends. Seeing them interact with one another in humours manners is one of the best parts of the game and the game is fantastic on that front. If you liked P5/P5R, there's no reason to not give this game a try. It's a proper sequel to P5, albeit with different combat.

The story is kinda been there, done that but the execution is good. It's more about the journey rather than the overarching plot. You basically get a tour of Japan from the comfort of you tv screen.

The combat is a unique spin on the turn based of the original. Every aspect of the turn based system flows here well. From exploiting enemies' weaknesses to going Dante mode time to time feels great. It's smooth and to put it in plain words, FUN. Just make sure to use most of your party members rather having a favourite.

In comparison to P5 which is a 11/10 game, I would give this a 9/10. But for a spinoff, this was far beyond my expectations. I dunno If we will ever see the Phantom Thieves again in action or it was their last adventure but this feels like the right place to end their stories.

Now onto post game missions. Considering of going for the plat as I'm only short of 2-3 trophies.

Edit: Want to give a shoutout to the epic OST.

Finally, after grinding the same mini-boss for 50+ times, the suffering is over. Probably took over 7 hours. My first plat in a very long time. Decided to push through it 'cause maybe it's the last adventure of Joker and the gang. Will probably do another run of P5R by the end of the year. Starting a RPG game is such a massive endeavour lol.

There are no physical copies available anywhere ?

That's the PS4 version. There is no PC Version physical as per usual. For Switch, you might have to see if your retailer can source import copies.

Started this yesterday and played for a couple of hours, it feels awesome to be back with the gang. I am liking the new combat mechanics but still too early to judge. The story and action gets going from the get go and one more thing that I liked is that the discussions/dialogs are very crisp and short.

Liking it so far, I hope it keeps up till the end.

Took 60 hrs to complete the game, I did some side stuff from time to time. Some of the boss battles were very intense and went on for 30-40 mins. The new combat style takes time to get used to but I loved it after a couple of hrs.

I guess this was the last outing with Joker and the gang before P6 comes out, will definitely miss the gang and loved the new characters as well. P5 was a 10/10 for me and this was a solid 9/10. And now the wait for P6 begins, I hope they announce something by the end of this year.
