There is a research showing that people who have dengue anti bodies have mild covid symptoms.

Since a dengue vaccine is out there they are conducting a research and vaccinating people to check if they are recovering quickly or not.

But but but. Dengue vaccine is safe ONLY for people who HAVE HAD dengue infection before.

Those who have never got dengue infection should not get the vaccine as it can lead to severe symptoms if they get infected with dengue later on.

What vaccine? Didn't have any idea. I should probably get it. :( Very scared of dengue.

I had dengue in 2014. Motherf**king bitch!

It wasnt the weakness and all that troubled me but the sheer number of times the nurses kept drawing blood samples for tests thats a PITA.

Also first thing I did when i recovered from icu to my room was to go and check in the washroom mirror if I had Abs since i lost 4-5kgs. :P

It gave me fear of the needle man.. I totally sympathize with you. Since then, i haven't been able to donate blood as i am too scared of the needle.

Dengue had the opposite affect for me, i let go off my diet and exercising after i had recovered from it. and now i am fat again. :|

Well looks like we have many Dengue surviours here.

Me too had Dengue in 2012 and my platelet count fell as low as 13000. Normal range is above 1.5lac. 1 week in ICU and 1 week in normal ward + crazy weekness, had to be moved on wheel chairs for doing sonography test etc. Local doc recommended blood transfusion but my uncle took the right decision to move me to Prince Aly Khan hospital (Mumbai) late night. The Doc and staff were very caring and luckily no blood transfusion was done. Took a total of 2 months to fully recover.

Oh man.. that's scary.. Mine went down to 17000 at its worst but i was lucky that we had family friend-like doc who visited me everyday at home and I didn't need to be hospitalized.

But it went down that low only for a day or two and if it didn't jump back up on 2nd or 3rd day, he said i would need to go in.

The first couple of days of when the fever had set in and i was tested for it, I kind of blacked out those days.

My sister's father in law is Covid positive. Wasn't feeling well and his boss advised a CT scan while he was waiting for his test results. The sample was sent to Mumbai from Akola and took 3 days for the results. Admitted for low oxygen levels and fever.

Wishing them a speedy recovery! :(

There is a vaccine but it turns out it only works for people who have been infected already. It doesn't prevent 1st dengue infection and just makes it worse if you get infected after taking the vaccine.

For the above reasons it hasn't been rolled out commercially.

Maharashtra administration is f**king retarded. They've started buses and only allowing 1 person to sit on one seat but apparently no limit on the standing passengers so its just made everything unnecessarily uncomfortable for everyone.

Social distancing is useless in public transport anyways so why not just allow everyone to sit.

In fact they should not allow anyone to stand. Only allow the number of passengers that can be seated.

This sounds like a decision made by someone who's never travelled by bus in their life

Maharashtra and the southern states have been under the Covid-19 spotlight for the high number of cases and deaths being reported daily from these places. However, proportionate to their relatively tiny populations, Goa and Puducherry are actually worse affected with one having the highest cases per million population and the other the highest deaths per million from the pandemic.

Goa has so far reported 17,392 cases per million, and Puducherry is at second place with 14,097, followed by Delhi (11,770) and Andhra Pradesh (11,496). Maharashtra, which is far ahead of any other state in total coronavirus cases, having recorded more than 1.1 million infections so far, comes in fifth in cases per million at 9,352. Puducherry has recorded 284 deaths per million, higher than Maharashtra, which is placed second with 256 fatalities per million.

Goa at No. 4 with 212 Covid deaths per million people

In deaths per million, Puducherry and Maharashtra are followed by Delhi

(245), Goa (212) and Andaman & Nicobar Islands (212).

If Uttar Pradesh had the same cases per million count as Goa, it would have recorded nearly four million cases by now (39,30,070 to be exact). Similarly, at Puducherry’s per million death rate, UP would have accounted for more than 64,000 fatalities. For perspective, India has so far reported just over 84,000 deaths from Covid-19.

A lot of north indian states barring delhi have very low cases is interesting to note. Especially Rajasthan. Here in Pune just PCMC limits got more daily count than the whole state at times. Need to understand what sets Rajasthan apart from a lot of other places. Even UP is sort of impressive considering how only 4 or 5 countries in the world have more population than just UP alone.

@Walker

Above article showing cases as per population density is why i cancelled my plan.
