Those who were tested had symptoms, so the positive % can be 90% of those who were tested. If they put it that way, no one will get jabbed.

I am not sure what you are saying. But the % is small not because of virtue, it is small because a small number was divided by a big number without having much correlation b/w the data.

Even if they took data from non-healthcare staff the % would have still been low because of such a big denominator.

This is blatant lying and misrepresentation of data.

This can't be the way to get people jabbed. Educating people is the way to go, I mean Modi (not being political) could have explained that people can still get corona in his address instead of asking us to making committees.

No, its like this:

Let's say

100,000 people got jabbed.

100 tested (Because 110 showed covid symptoms )

85 found positive.

Now, would you conclude this vaxx a fail or success based on these numbers or draw any conclusion at all? No you cannot.

But you can assume that a lot less people needed test because a lot less people showed symptoms  out of those who got jabbed.

Dr Ranganathan agrees.

Will existing vaccines work against the triple mutation?

Two of the three variants in the triple mutation have been seen to have immune escape responses, meaning they are more resistant to antibodies. Not much more is known yet on the effectiveness of vaccines. Scientists believe the new variant has some ability to escape the body's naturally acquired immunity to Covid.

FÜck.

Based on recent updates covaxin seems more promising.

Most centers near Aundh are covaxin sites so was thinking of covaxin only.

You can take the reports from pro nationalist channels that CoVaxin has a better chance with mutant strains, with a grain of salt

If I was you I’d go with CoVaxin as of today

Yes covaxin seems better.

Hoping that CM saheb actually manages to get imported vaccines as reported in the media.

No. The numbers don't say this.

You are explaining this reasoning to me but whoever watched the presentation and the way it is being promoted does not connote this.

Also whether the vaccine is a success or not is actually given by the efficacy rate. There is no need for another statistic.

I thought I was asymptomatic, but I have actually tested negative. I don’t understand how.

Same with me. Sometimes it doesn't spread or it takes time for viral load to become high enough to test positive. Do a test after a few days or if you get symptoms. Take care of your family. Keep positive cases in separate room with attached bathroom. Ask them to keep door closed. Give food outside door. Don't interact directly. Keep mask on when going near their room.

Noob question but . Assuming if all in the home test positive, they can roam around freely in the same home, right?  (of course using separate bathroom , sleeping separately etc).

Yeah, I will get tested again after a few days.

I am seriously suspecting that my father has been COVID +ve for the last 10 days or so. He went to Hyderabad on Govt duty and returned with cold (he only visits us twice a week due to his busy work schedule). He warned us not to get near him just in case and stayed with us for a couple of days. My mother developed cold within a day after he left to his head office district. My father returned this Monday with +ve result and directly went upstairs and stayed there. Absolutely no contact with us. My mother went to his room only after she got tested positive. Yet, weirdly, I tested negative. It doesn't make sense because enough time has passed.

My mom and dad isolated in same room and sister in different, but all 3 used same bathroom. I would have used the same bathroom and gone to same room if I was positive. Aim should be to minimise touching the objects so that you have less surfaces exposed to virus. I will not go in those rooms till May end at least lol .
