If this is similar to what mumbai terms and conditions are then it's not happening. They want guaranteed delivery in 3 weeks among other things. The only companies that might even show interest in this may be the Chinese ones in which case it's better to drink coronil than take that. Siddharth is doing great work no doubt but it's again politics under play as PMC is controlled by bjp and they can't be showing doing nothing when sena led BMC is floating this tender.

Social distancing kaha he bhai? Aur chipak jao.

By that metric 90% people over here have no right to post any sort of scientific info without proper sources to go along with it.

Maybe that'll be a great practice to follow.

And no, twitter threads are not sources.

Information, opinion and news.

You gotta be smart enough to understand difference between them, and you should be good

With the madness around stock availability, I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll rather wait for my complex or office to pull off a vaccine drive.

Cannot stand for. 6-8 hours in line due to slip disc. Contracting the darned thing is secondary.

Just wish GTS or Living Liquidz in Mumbai starts their own vaccine drive. Preorder 2 AAA exclusives/ 15k worth alcohol and get a jab free.

Me looking at my degree after going through the thread:

A degree is just a piece of paper. One's education is seen in their behavior.

Life will teach you that as you grow older.

An opinion from a virologist, health expert, vaccine manufacturer is still that - an opinion. Yes it has more value than my opinion or other armchair experts' but it doesn't get elevated to the status of fact or actionable info.

It takes a lot of research and data ( and even more time ) when an opinion becomes a fact or is rejected due to inconclusive data or results.

Waiting for that opinion to become a fact and then taking a decision may be counter productive , if the time to take an appropriate action has already passed .

Such is the unprecedented situation we are in right now . Acting / sharing information from people who are scientifically qualified and have produced some rational argument  behind their opinion (incomplete as it may be) is still a good idea imo rather than waiting for it to become a fact

Can attest to this. I have a degree but I'm literally banned from society.

:nerves:

With the disrespect you spew upon elders especially those who have seen more rainy days in Malad, I'm not surprised.

I'm too old to care about my behavior. Or worry about how some 21yo punk judges me.

I can differentiate well enough. Many people here can't which is what sparked my comment.

Bharat Biotech said (which wasn't opinion but their finding, hence information) after P2 their Vaxx is 81% effective, but ppl were like "aise kaise BC, P3 dikhao".

Then they did P3 and said  yes, after P3, we conclude it is 81% effective, then ppl were like "Aise kaise BC, publish karo peer-review karo"

Now, they will publish it, get it peer-reviewed and highly likely that it will verify all the findings, then these naysayers will move on to something else.

But damage is already done.

Speculating about it is absolutely pointless and goes in the direction of fear mongering.

This.

Many people (including a few on this forum) jump on the first chance to spread any piece of information they come across without even thinking what the 1st and 2nd hand effects of it might be.

Acting on a piece of information is a job for the experts and many people are trying to pretend as one, how many people will go through an article and not just listen to "vaccine kam nhi kar rhi hai?"

Calling a vaccine as not working or calling it 50-60% less effective when the article the person is quoting itself mentions that the result is inconclusive, that leads to nothing else than propagating the fear and hesitancy regarding the vaccines.

Most of the news channels are reporting how people are not going for vaccination because they think they don't work and is dangerous and it's only because of unsolicited education being provided by these self-made experts.

And then in their P3 2nd interim data the efficacy dropped to 78%.

No one knows whether the efficacy will increase or decrease in the final data.

No one is saying that Bharat Biotech's vaccine is not safe, people are just asking for data to calculate how well it is working instead of just saying "vaccine kam kar nhi rhi hai".
