In 1st wave it got spared somehow but now it's spreading like wildfire there as well . Cases in most of the Metro's, tier 1/2 cities have gone down significantly . Kanpur itself is an industrial area, and it has a long history of dumping industrial waste into Ganges ("Ganga Maiya sab theek kar dengi"). Dumping bodies, tbh, is not surprising the more I think about it. Yes the practice of throwing bodies into the river has been going on for a long time. My tuition teacher told us this anecdote 15-20 years ago. Someone he knew was taking a dubki and got hit by a human hand that was floating in the river. I spray that savlon disinfectant in the elevator if I have to go down to pickup anything. Not trying to spread panic or anything but also monitor yourself and everyone in your house for any covid related symptoms for next few days ( even if you guys also got tested n came out negative ) .
