Govt. is doing nothing to Ramdev because he is making a distraction and taking govt's failure out of the equation. Instead of questioning whether Govt or doctors didn't do their job right, the discussion is being moved to whether doctors and modern medicine itself is to blame.

Why would they take any action?

Why should they raid the twitter office for this? Why not just ask Twitter to submit documents for proof.

All said and done, this was a tweet by a political party. Not sure why the central government has to interfere. Retards believing that they can get everything done by strong arming.

https://m.timesofindia.com/india/cops-visit-twitter-offices-to-serve-toolkit-case-notice/articleshow/82922983.cms#_ga=2.9568307.786795894.1616215873-amp-m_WUwnsb6xszxV8_cm7wj4zd3ZjzZZCbm24RcXB4k_GOTxJ1nLmgEOd08EFeoZrk

They went to give notice. Also if twitter has labelled it as manipulated media means they have some evidence that it is manipulated, so don't you think police and people have right to know? Police had given notice to MD India to appear on 22nd May but he didn't appear saying he isn't the right person representing twitter. Then who is? This is the problem with all private companies. There should be clear point of contact. If it was leftist government, Sambit Patra's account would have been suspended permanently without showing any evidence. If you think current government is authoritarian, then wait when left comes to power. They have never been in power in age of social media, I am eagerly waiting for that to happen and then show the world how much they love censorship.

Twitter had no business getting in between and picking sides when 2 political parties were slugging it out. What if tomorrow GOI puts out a notification that the cheap drdo drug is 80% effective and these guys under the pharma lobby pressure say that this " claim is disputed". Let's not forget the bunch of other influencer and celebrity backed fake news floating through there that gets a free pass.

That’s the problem everywhere in the world, Big Tech want to take a political line.

As big as I am fan of twitter, it, as the company has failed the test of being politically neutral (in public).

There was a fire in one few years back, which killed many.

If a spokesperson of the ruling government is using Twitter's platform to accuse a prominent political party of running a campaign to tarnish the image of the central government ( and political party in question asks twitter to suspend accounts of few top leaders of the ruling government ) then yeah its kinda Twitter's business to get involved and do something about it .

Only a month ago central government asked ( demanded rather ) twitter to take down tweets which were spreading "fake news" about covid 19 in India . Twitter removed more than 50 of those tweets ( majority of those from members of different political parties showing grim situation of covid in India ) in a flash .

They should have deleted tweets this time as well rather than labelling them as manipulative media .

Nothing should be deleted or labelled manipulative without providing reasons and that's what all the entire debate is for.

The last mandvali between govt and twitter was that twitter will not be blocking accounts w/o giving reasons.

Simple thing, if toolkit is fake, provide evidences that you may have that made you think it is fake.

Otherwise law of the land take its course.

as i said that the police action is logical and legal. share the material that lead you to label it manipulated. twitter is not supreme court to pass judgement. twitter execs dont realise but they can be booked under criminal law.

Professor Luke Montagnier said that epidemiologists are aware of the facts related to the vaccine, but they are still silent. In response to a question, the Nobel laureate professor said that vaccines do not stop the virus, rather they work in the opposite way, making the virus powerful.

In response to the question that since January of vaccination, new cases and death figures have been increasing rapidly since January, what is your opinion about this? Montagnier said, 'This is a scientific, medical mistake that cannot be accepted. It will be recorded in history, because vaccination itself is creating new variants'. Explaining his point, he said that the vaccine produces antibodies, which force the virus to find some other way or die and due to this new variants are produced.

That's the thing government didn't have to provide evidence when it mandated twitter to delete those tweets.  They didn't ask Twitter to verify those facts .. just ordered them to delete it.

Also the right of freedom of speech also has its limitations.

" Freedom of speech and expression, therefore, may not be recognized as being absolute, and common limitations or boundaries to freedom of speech relate to libel, slander, obscenity, "

It goes on but only highlighting the part related to this case .

What spokesperson of the ruling government posted is related to libel (in the eyes of the accused party )  and as such shouldn't be allowed on a public platform since its an unproven fact .

Twitter should have taken down the tweet as it violated right to speech and let the matter run in court .
