This is something government could easily have paid and it wouldn't have hurt our economy at all . What's the point of having such high reserves when we won't use it in time of needs . 

Of course supply constraints are there but that's entirely different matter . 

 Forget the forex reserves If the government made use of 35k crores it alloted for vaccines in budget we may have had more vaccines than what we have now .

Truth is we are not a poor country anymore . It's not about lack of money rather about the lack of will to do anything .

The money may not be problem but availability and setting the priority of distribution are.

 

Including a pay-for model reduces problem of distribution to those who are willing to get jabbed and want to cut the queue.

 

Let’s say if govt gets 20cr vaxx every month, which is a impossible figure, it will still not able to provide to people who want at priority. 90cr will remain at mercy of Cowin lottery or use corruption to sneak through.

This is the problem pay-for solves.

 

its like there are people who want to watch a movie First Day First show, since hall can have only limited Balcony seats, how Cinema owners can solve it? Either by allowing some of tix sold in black or by adding premium row of Sofa seats which cost double than Balcony and cater to a certain crowd.

Cowin didn't have an option to cancel 2nd dose but Aarogya Setu did.

Cancelled it, will now schedule later.

My parents took Covishield (both doses). Zero side effects.

Wifey, bro, sis, me no side effects after 1st dose. Sis in law had side effects after first dose including fever, headache, bodyache etc. All took Covishield.

It looks like they changed the website. I was able to cancel the appointment for the second dose for my aunt on the 6th of May.

Yes this was the case when I went for vaccination and also whn I took my aunt, vials were out on the table in a simple tray.
