I have seen this guy's tweets

This is too small a window (10 days) to look at the data, as Death certificates are not issued in Real-Time.

There could be certificates which weren't issued in time last year, due to lockdown, or backlog that have been cleared.

Secondly, died-of-covid vs died-with-covid which is followed world over, adds discrepency

71 day data .

Booster lagenge har saal?

I'll be VERY VERY happy if boosters protect us. It's not even 6-8 months after initial vaccination and we are hitting new numbers in those countries.

Heck, I would take a booster 6 monthly if that means new variants are covered, which is logistically impossible.

Scroll down . Compare cases per 1M population and deaths per 1M population .

India's figure are 4-5x less than top most affected countries for cases

And 3-10x less than same countries for deaths .

Truth is there in these numbers and antibodies prevalence in our population .

False sense of security is scarier than the virus itself. Maybe big pharma has a role to play in this. These crowds at hill stations, now kanwars everywhere, all feel similarly I guess, that the virus is gone for good. This is kumbh mela level fiasco all over again.

That's what they said last year. It's just that the deaths are not getting reported, specially in tier 3 cities and villages.

Other SEA countries are similarly placed to india with similar genetics. Yet their per million death is higher I guess. Maybe they have better reporting systems

Doctor, why mutations are becoming more viral & deadly?

UK has 6L cases since Jun 1, and 1000 deaths, with 52% pop fully vaccinated.

Vaccines are working. We just gotta beliebe that.

As per the graphs, hospitalizations are increasing. If that happens in india again, medical infrastructure would get stressed (again). Need to prevent that.

More people have died due to the lack of beds/oxygen/life saving drugs etc than the virus itself.

But they are way low compared to what they had in % of cases during Wave II.

But fine print here is that 63% of their Adult population is fully vaxxed.

Yeah and percentages matter a lot. Our percentages would be appended to around 130 crores minus the ones fully vaccinated.

Not the best person to answer, but my guess would be that due to extremely high infectivity of the virus, a high number of people are getting infected (more than say, flu), leading to not only higher rates of mutations, but the "best" (those that can escape immune response) survival rates of those variants.

Add to it the fact that if you look at the lab leak theory, the initial virus was already bioengineered to have extremely high infectivity.

There is also proof that those that received plasma therapy helped in acceleration of development of mutagenic strains.

This is why vaccination should be focussed on Metros, Tier I and II cities.

Have 75% of adult population in these cities finish vaxx in 2 weeks.

100-150 vaxx per center won't cut it, start mobile vaccination centers on the street corners and jab everyone who is passing through.
