UK Daily Cases 52K Death 49

Indonesia Cases 54K Death 1205

Indonesia used Sinovac primarily now switching to AstraZeneca

UK used AstraZeneca initially then stressed on mRNA

Those are not comparable scenarios. Both these countries are at opposite ends of each other in terms of population vaccinated, medical infrastructure, population etc.

That was the whole point of my comparison

It depicts hope in medical infrastructure’s capabilities in fighting the pandemic if all the things you listed are in place

Primarily the vaccine

But thats 25x the deaths. What hope are you talking about?

Edit: Let me be a bit more clear. We're closer to Indonesia than UK.

That a certain vaccines are working even against the Delta variant

Not sure how you came to that conclusion but like I said, those scenarios are not comparable. Indonesia has only (fully) vaccinated 6% of their population compared to 53% of UK. That plus things like population, medical infrastructure, access to the said infrastructure (among other things) makes these scenarios incomparable.

Even the 6% that Indonesia did was Sinovac so I’d rather consider it 0%

& the answer is in your comment itself

50+% fully vaccinated with mRNA & AstraZeneca is making the difference (assuming most of the vulnerable are within this side)

as for health infrastructure & population though they contribute too but not as much as the correct usage of vaccine

Coz UK in second wave was witnessing similar cases/death graph as Indonesia is facing now

Quote

So when ICU is full, 1 patient with severe covid19 requiring invasive ventilation (which up till now has been about 60% of the 37500 ppl admitted to England, Wales & NI) cancels 10-20 heart/major cancer surgeries. We need to clearly communicate this

What English is this, my brain hurt so bad reading this.

My point is, how did you come to the conclusion that Sinovac is ineffective against the Delta variant when Indonesia has only managed to vaccinate just 6% of their population? That is an absolutely baseless assumption.

Again, I'm not saying that Sinovac is effective. For all we know, it's not.

Invasive ventilation means the patient requires the ventilator. And as per her, around 60% of the 37000 admitted to hospitals require ventilator support.

I know that. just that adding 3-4 things in one sentence she totally turned into aneurysm-inducing

I was applying % on 1 because she said and then it didnt make any sense.

Govt are not able to take decisions freely anywhere in the world.

The only group of people who are fighting Covid on this planet, are Doctors and Healthcare workers.

Rest all, Government, People, Intellegensia, Watchdogs, Social-workers, journalists....are just fighting their own wars against their own set of enemies.

Everyone is abusing Boris Johnson for opening the lockdown. India is reporting  40+ cases per day for several weeks now, and here it is business as usual. No one is commenting on that.

English are bigger chus. Just watch ENG vs pak to know why.

No one is wearing a mask. False sense of bravado when cases are rising as we speak.
