What hope are you talking about? Edit: Let me be a bit more clear. We're closer to Indonesia than UK. Edited July 18, 2021 by TRMNTR

Indonesia has only (fully) vaccinated 6% of their population compared to 53% of UK. That plus things like population, medical infrastructure, access to the said infrastructure (among other things) makes these scenarios incomparable. AnK
Even the 6% that Indonesia did was Sinovac so I’d rather consider it 0% & the answer is in your comment itself 50+% fully vaccinated with mRNA & AstraZeneca is making the difference (assuming most of the vulnerable are within this side) as for health infrastructure & population though they contribute too but not as much as the correct usage of vaccine Coz UK in second wave was witnessing similar cases/death graph as Indonesia is facing now Edited July 18, 2021 by AnK

Right
Quote So when ICU is full, 1 patient with severe covid19 requiring invasive ventilation (which up till now has been about 60% of the 37500 ppl admitted to England, Wales & NI) cancels 10-20 heart/major cancer surgeries. We need to clearly communicate this What English is this, my brain hurt so bad reading this. Edited July 18, 2021 by Right

Invasive ventilation means the patient requires the ventilator. And as per her, around 60% of the 37000 admitted to hospitals require ventilator support. That is an absolutely baseless assumption. Again, I'm not saying that Sinovac is effective. For all we know, it's not.

Everyone is abusing Boris Johnson for opening the lockdown. India is reporting 40+ cases per day for several weeks now, and here it is business as usual. No one is commenting on that.
