The Coronavirus Thread Part 2

Florida has around 49% of the population vaccinated. Contrasting this with india, around 7-8% is vaccinated.

There are cases of waning immunity as well i.e a person getting fully vaxxed in feb-march getting reinfected. Maybe that's the reason pfizer is advocating another booster dose. This is very much possible in india as well as vaccinating >70 pc of population would take 1+ years.

How do things change with the delta? What can possible happen in the next few months.

Sorry, didn't get your question.

It's just the most dangerous surviving variant now. And as it passes through different bodies, vaccinated and unvaccinated, another variant will emerge - nobody can predict its properties.

Really need those double doses now. And a booster too. I guess we are looking at 3-6 monthly shots in future till the virus fizzles out.

I had a fun friday night. Alcohol, Chicken, Sutta etc. Had a bad case of acidity from outside food. Around 2 in the night since i was unable to sleep I ate some 3 days old curd and slept immediately after that.

Had dizziness the whole day yesterday which i thought is due to less sleep or something. Couldn't sleep again last night properly and woke up with a sore throat and by afternoon i have developed fever hovering between 99.7 and 100.3 took the RAT self test. It shows negative.

Is this due to extremely cold weather in pune, my sutta break at pan wala or curd I probably wouldn't find out. But I will live with the fear for the next few days.

So yeah f**k china. I am ready to join the squad.

RAT negative doesn’t mean sh*t

only Positive is a sure shot result

Get an RTPCR done if you have doubt

Booked for tomorrow morning first thing.

Even though the practo doc asked to get it done 5 days later after completing my anti biotic course in case the symptoms dont go away.  Life's too precious to skip pcr with full blown symptoms. Although the feeling i am getting is similar to my previous throat infections which were accompanied by fever.

If you are getting a feeling that you have previously experienced before it’s most likely not Covid

All the ppl I came across explain it as something never been experienced before

Even the mild symptomatic

Yeah man.throat infection is an annual fest for me. It is not usually accompanied by fever every year but it has happened once or twice before.

Uh no.

I get URTI 3-4 times a year, since years. COVID was absolutely no different. Same symptoms as typical cold, cough. Same for my parents.

They only different symptom my wife had was prolonged loss of taste and weird smells. Other symptoms were no different from regular infection.

Edit: None of the mildly symptomatic patients I've seen described anything different. Most of them didn't even want to get RTPCR since they were convinced it's just regular cough cold.

Vaccines are available so easily these days it's almost concerning. My second dose got booked with ease. So many slots open in Mumbai.

Are the vaccines that abundant or people are not going for their second dose?

Even covaxin is readily available. I even saw sputnik v available in Pune.

MH government is pushing for pvt inoculation. Free centers are not available easily..

Yeah it’s better to get tested as recommended

& goes without saying not to rely on

opinions here

Coz everyone is just giving their personal account of it
