So many vaccines just going to waste & they just sitting on it till the wave has actually arrived & rampant. Vaccination for children should have started long ago but I guess government want those 50L vaxx a day figures.
Banz
There are also little to no restrictions on nationwide or statewide levels. Only see local restrictions in Mumbai, Pune etc. People aren't even wearing masks anymore and there is little being done to enforce it. They would have still achieved the regular vaxx figures irrespective if they had opened dose for children or boosters for elderly/frontline. They had abundant production within country & they went on to reduce it instead of ramping. I just hope this Mulyil guy who advised against boosters & children knows what he is doing. Irrispective of his advisory govt. went on to open it but too late.

black_Scorpion
I am seeing doubling of cases every day. Omicron is spreading faster than any other virus on earth. It is going to hit us like a tsunami and we are still unprepared for it. Hopeful that vaccines will do its job and reduce hospitalization. That’s proven to be the case so far Almost all vaccinated & priorly infected ppl are getting negligible symptoms. 9 minutes ago, rushaboswal said: Man not again, dont close the shop's AGAIN. That has to happen once unfortunately & rightfully so. They need to make sure it goes through the population slow & steady coz if all get infected at once,it could lead to another catastrophe. Black_Hawk
Changes spotted in symptoms in Covid patients in Kolkata Excerpts from above article: Flu-like indications such as runny nose, irritation in the throat, headache and short-duration fever are some of the symptoms the current crop of Covid patients are showing, doctors said. Hardly any patient is complaining of loss of taste and smell, a common symptom during the earlier waves of the pandemic. Drop in the oxygen saturation level — which many Covid patients had suffered from in earlier waves, often with fatal consequences — has been rare, too. “The symptoms being noticed in those who are getting infected now are a lot like an upper respiratory tract infection. These patients are presenting themselves with flu-like symptoms, such as runny nose, headache and irritation in the throat,” said Chandramouli Bhattacharya, an infectious diseases specialist at Peerless Hospital. “In earlier phases, we noticed that many patients had fever that persisted for four to six days. But this time the overwhelming majority is having very mild fever. Even if someone is running a temperature of 101 or 102 degree Fahrenheit, it is subsiding in a day or two.” Sutirtha De, an internal medicine specialist at MR Bangur Hospital, too, said most Covid patients were complaining of flu-like symptoms.
