Everything was goin on fine...fast connectivity..no lags nothing..BUT..BUT..the last few days.. I have been getting constant lags in my online games!!! Well..before you hit the gong on me...following are the facts 512 Unlimited Connection Secured wi-fi connection Signal strength= 100% as usual ISP Provider Report = Everything fine at their end stating that the net connection is not f**ked up. No other device using the internet when PS3 is on. Router has been reset thrice. Checked various online games...to confirm if not related to any particular game server issue.. But lag is on all games !!!! Damm..why the sudden lag..totally clueless..its been now 3-4 days..the same kind of lag is occurring...but SURPRISING.. downloads on the psn are at the same speed as earlier..itz the only freakin LAG i am getting in the online games these few days Help in this regards..truly appreciated brotha's !!! MarketTantrik
I dont think there's anything wrong with your setup. It appears to be a PSN issue. Can any regular PSN gamer confirm if this is true ?

IshmaelIsBack
Ive been on PSN for almost 2 years now , and never encountered such an issue , Lag ( or Delay ) happens when a packet of data is sent to a server ( or a host here in Online Gaming ) and gets a reply back , VERY LATE i.e. Higher Pings.Ping your connection first of all to a local server and then an american server , such as yahoo , see the reply first and IF it's anything above 50 for local and more than 150 for NA regions , you're in serious trouble for Online Gaming.Contact your ISP and enquire about this. MarketTantrik
In the few months I was on PSN, I occasionally did face this issue especially when there was some critical download activity like a new firmware update or a major game update (GT5:P comes to mind). I juz downladed that few days back only !!! But it will be wierd to believe that this will be the reason ????
MarketTantrik
Its not specific to your console. It good be a general slowdown on PSN, which is why I asked someone else to conform.
IshmaelIsBack
lol lag occurs only when there's a very high Ping , nothing else

Net is at blazing speed with downlaods..wtf..is wrong with the lag in games...grrrr hope the channel change improves....will revert back when I am on the ps3 post
IshmaelIsBack
Mumbai , thats a server to where the packets were sent to and recieved , not servers abroad but in PSN one usually connects to either American or European servers. If someone's living in South India and connect to that server then a 55 ping is fine , should be less if one's living close to that place. For online gaming on the PS3 , the reply MUST be at 150 for nominal lag free gaming.200 is the start of minor lags and above that is hell.
