I think because it encourages really aggressive attacking and dodges which is like opposite of souls game. I had similar fun in bloodborne too because it also encouraged aggression as blood of enemy used to refill your health. Didn't even see what that guy is doing outside my field of view lol. Trick for big bosses is just stick to close to them around their legs and beat the sh*t outta them. You also get a nerf from that lanterns when night time. Else it was an easy boss, I've seen many people struggling with him and other kill him in a breeze. I had trouble with Cyan Loong too. I first played aggressive to get around 25% health deplete. Then I played defensive for the rest of the fight. He has very limited attacks. Stay away from him and he'll always do tackle attack combined with air attack. Easy to dodge and land some hits. Repeat. Pro Tip: Start fight with Pillar Stance without triggering the start of the fight. Like you should stay away till the point that your Pillar Stance reach him at full power, smash him. This will knock him down and start the fight. Land him more hits, or better immobilize and use pluck of many to deplete his health quick. Then play defensive like I mentioned above to beat him. Maybe it's just about getting the hang of it. But yeah, take your time. Progress in the story and then beat him. I was reluctant to let go of immobilize but spellbind made chapter 3 bosses so easy. Took out Yellowbrow on the second try. Yin tiger is by far the hardest one I faced followed by Tiger vanguard. I think you are yet to reach the starting point. When you are near a shrine, you will hear someone calling for help saying they need fire. Though I had brought him down to only 1-2 hits twice, but got greedy. Almost f**ked up here too but somehow did it. Also he can be aggressively comboed and staggered in his first phase.
