Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Completed the game. Main story, side quests and all companion quests.

I must say, i enjoyed it way more than i thought. I liked pretty much everything except overall art design, design of Qunaris,  Darkspawn and everything related to Taash. Taash easily the worst companion, everything related to 'them" is nothing but forced DEI propaganda stuff.

One example of DEI propaganda - There's a scene where Isabella had to apologise Taash for using wrong pronouns. Punishment for using wrong pronouns is 10 push ups in a  fantasy game.

One of the worst and most cringe scene ever. They ruined Isabella's character completely.

I also really dislike that you can't play as evil Rook. You are forced to play as good person in DAV. I wish Bioware kept old renegade and paragon style system. :/

Another thing which pissed me off - Story ending related spoiler-

Spoiler

In final mission you get options to assign companions to certain tasks similar to Suicide mission in ME 2, where you choices decides whether your companion lives or not. Making wrong choices here can kill companions except Taash. I dont think Taash can die in this game, i really tried hard  to kill Taash by reloading save to make different choices but bitch survives no matter what lol. So Taash truly special character in the game. Protected by DEI shield.

I also didn't like how they treated Varric in the game. Varric was dead entire time, you were just tricked by Solas :(

Overall game was good - 7/10.

If you looking for a true RPG experience then stick with Larian or CD Project Red games. But if you looking for fun and well made action adventure game with RPG elements then game is definitely worth playing once.

56 hours in, only just started act 2

I'm really enjoying the exploration and combat. Mid game combat is also way more fun as you've unlocked a lot of skills.

Here's a tip about combat that I've not seen anyone mention: don't just rely on primer/detonate system.

There are other abilities that can setup/ damage even better

Eg)

Davrins Assan Strike is great against darkspawn. Takes a big chunk of health away.

Bellas Galvanized Tear will pull enemies together in a vacuum making all your attacks easier to hit

I think you get a symbol on your ability wheel when you've locked on a particular enemy for which ability will do a powerful hit on them. Like with undead you go full on cold ❄️ abilities, that shred them but other does minimal damage, even the ultimate does small damage because it's basically fire. dafuq..

Check end taash part omfg :roflroll:

First they address Taash as THEY and at the end NPC calls Taash She. Taash companion quests is all about making her THEY  and game forgets everything and start calling Taash as She

Ofcourse, default starts to kick in someday. Who tf will remember what to call what. Pathetic culture and those who support this sh*t are bigger morons.

Looks like game bombed hard. After how many losses and job cuts will these companies realise that gamers don't want woke sh*t shoved in the games? They keep saying it's only loud racist bigoted minority that makes noise and majority don't care, but the numbers don't lie.

https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/ea-blames-underperformance-of-dragon-age-and-ea-fc25-as-it-lowers-forecast/

"Separately, EA said on Wednesday that Dragon Age: The Veilguard, released in October, “engaged” around 1.5 million players during the three months ended December 31, 2024, which it said was nearly half of its expectations."

So game is really good but still it underperformed. Does this mean anti woke boycott actually works? Because so far most of us were thinking that anti woke "chuds" are a vocal minority and if game is great it's sales aren't affected much.

Complicating much, just keep the ones who work and think straight and kick out the woke ones. Is it too hard to learn that?

Started this game today on ps5 (thanks to ps+ essentials), the opening act was good - almost like a summer blockbuster movie.  Playing as a human/warrior, the gfx are all cartoony , last da game I played was da1 on ps3, this doesn’t seem anything like it !
