dante77
My problem isn't even Woke, it's the overall direction. Why didn't they go full on AAA mode with realistic graphics like predecessors and chose cartoon-y graphics. It looks nothing like DA but I'll still try some day since it's free now and it's DA and I like DA series. I also hoped that they should have gone darker/serious tone rather than lighter tone. So overall the direction seems bad from the looks of it.

Its not designed for Bioware fans, its made for modern audience.
Ne0
Played for a couple of hours, the game has been good so far. The skill tree looks vast and deep (with specialisation and stuff). I am playing as a warrior, so the gameplay itself is pretty basic and/with some special abilities thrown in. Even the party members can be controlled to some basic extent where in you can assign them commands and target them towards an enemy. While the visual cartoony look threw me off at first, you kind of get used to it as you play more and more. While the characters themselves look a bit like that, the environment, enemies et cetera seem to be well designed. Whatever has been revealed on the main story, kind of seems to be more involved with a deep lore and seems well written, didn’t feel like it was too immature or anything like that. Even the world is beautifully designed (at least from what I have seen so far) and at times it feels like some kind of a dark fairytale come to life !

DEI stuff always been part of Bioware games but it was done very subtle and smart way, but with Veilguard they went to extreme levels. Taash quest line is nothing but straight DEI propaganda with cringe worthy dialogue writing nd all. Overall game is not bad but huge step back compared to old Bioware games. I don’t blame them though. 2-3 years back (assuming that’s when the game was in dev), DEI was one of the top priorities for many western companies. Yep, meeting diversity targets is one of the main conditions to get funding/tax breaks from investment firms/governments. Spiraling costs, lack of skilled labor, DEI and live service are the biggest crises hitting the western gaming industry

Ne0
When does the game open up ? Finished that dock town quest but I still don’t see any side quests marked on my map nor have I met any NPC, who is going to give me any quest! Big Boss
https://tech4gamers.com/dragon-age-veilguard-fails-ps-plus/ "Dragon Age: The Veilguard Fails to Take Off Even on PS Plus Lmao I am one of those TMNT players. Also after some 7h or so of gameplay, I’m digging the artwork/visuals too, it’s very dark fantasy world-esque and cities/environments are designed accordingly. There’s a good amount of lore to read through as well. The gameplay is still kinda flat, hope I get to unlock some cool abilities later! bostonО
The gameplay feels a bit basic at first, but once you unlock new abilities, it really opens up and becomes much more dynamic.
Ne0
Ok, so 24h into the game, recruited all the companions I guess, on level 23 now. The game has been pretty good so far. Contrary to the cartoony visuals, the game has been very mature in its content so far. I just don’t get what’s up with all the hate. I haven’t played inquisition, so maybe the fans of that game didn’t like it ? Even writing wise, except the fact that you can’t go aggressive/piss of your companions, it’s been good so far. At least the main quest has been engaging until now !
Zod
Its a bad Bioware game when you compared to Origins and all. Overall as action adventure game its quite good.
