Its a bad Bioware game when you compared to Origins and all. Overall as action adventure game its quite good.

If you compare this and Avowed, which has better gameplay and graphics?

Veilguard is better.

Avowed gameplay is fine and it looks good too but story, characters and dialogues were bad and cringe. I stopped playing half way through once Shadows came out. I might go back to it in future idk.

Its right up there with Veilguard in wokeness. Characters purposely look hideous and it has they and them nonsense too.

If you looking for good non woke RPG then play Kingdom come deliverance 2. I will get it once im done with Shadows lol.

Ya KCD2 is definitely better than all but its costly. Vielguard and Avowed are free so that's why I was asking. Don't care more about characters or story. Just graphics and gameplay should be good. Seems like Vielguard is the way to go then?

Try both if you can. Everyone has different taste when it comes to video games.

Avowed gameplay is slow. its your typical old school RPG with lot of rpg elements like crafting and all.

Veilguard more action focused, so u might like it more. Veilguard is more streamlined action adventure game with RPG elements.

Both very woke :P

Completed ‘the waiting stone’ quest of Harding yesterday.  Visited those dwarven mines as part of that quest and man, the architecture was so good.  I felt it was designed based on what we got to see in the LOTR movies.

Generally, I’m quite impressed with the variety of maps in the game.  Of course they are all small and disjoint and need fast travel to visit them(many of them are vertical instead of wide areas) as compared to other open world games, but each is designed very differently with its own theme etc.

Completed The Seige of Weisshaupt main quest.  It was alright, a little too intense for my liking - so many enemies spawning left and right.  The boss fight at the end of the quest was a let down as well.

Also, just checked a walkthrough to see how far I’m into the game and looks like this is just the mid point.  I’ve already spent over 30 hours.  Looks like a 60-70 hour game with side quests !

I felt the best visuals are in that forest area and that coastal area.  That Harding quest area(Dwarven mining) was good too, very reminiscent of lotr setting!

Ah i punched him lmao. Very satisfying.

It was quite tempting to do that 😂 , I got some 100 points for siding with him, I thought he would help out later, but not really.  He just got eliminated by that boss at the end !!

Played for few hours, uninstalled it. Absolutely sh*t game. Hated the art style and gameplay. Annoying characters. Not a single thing I liked about this game. Glad it was free. Unfortunately wasted the bandwidth though.

You gotta keep playing the game to experience amazing dialogues and scenes like these -

Completed the game sometime back.  Completed all companion quests and upgraded all of them to “heroes of  veilguard”.   I think I completed most side quests too, except those treasure hunts and stuff.  Overall took me 58 hours.

One thing I found most absurd is the hatred due to woke stuff.  There’s hardly any woke stuff in the game, if any it’s just for some 5 mins in a companion side quest which is entirely optional.

My gripe with the game is the inconsistent writing , lack of enemy variety and lacklustre gameplay.  Like the final end quests are some of the best I’ve played but they lose their punch due to the pretty mediocre buildup.

Gameplay wise, it’s just spamming buttons/choosing attacks back to back against enemies who feel like sponge.  Lack of enemy variety is another issue.  Due to this, most side quests feel like a chore.  Like most side quests in Dock town results in a confrontation with venetori.  Even as a rpg, the levelling system is bad.  The side characters are immune to enemies and doesn’t make any sense to upgrade their armour and stuff.

I had no issue with visuals though.  It’s cartoony, but I got used to it after some time.

Overall, I felt the writing + gameplay could’ve been much better developed as the setting had potential.  Missed opportunity imo.  Maybe I’ll play the prequel - da:inquisition as well someday just to compare!

The visuals in those final quests are really insane! The environment art was amazing

Totally, the end of the world scenario, the coming together of all the heroes to defeat evil, all against the backdrop of the red eclipse created by Elgharnan.  Even the fight between the dread wolf and the arch demon is fantastic !  They should’ve just stuck to this serious/urgent tone thru the main quest line at least instead of just the last few end quests !

I tried with Bellara, neve and Harding, Harding was the only one who reciprocated and she was the one who sacrificed herself at the end !

What about you ?
