Anyways, what's the review of the game from people who got it?

I'm really interested in this game. The persona comparisons made me even more hyped.

Well you have party members and can increase their bond lvl by giving gifts or do their bond episodes. But those bond episodes are just dialogues. You can't do anything with them in the open world. I believe persona is still superior in that department. Also side quests are dull (just kill these specific enemies in this style, etc.)

Apart from that having a blast. Every party member has a special ability that you can combine and use in combat. When you simultaneously use them its a blast. Almost half way through and it feels something that would have been directed by Nolan :P

There is an anime opening, which is great. I'll have to see how many anime cutscenes they give us (Persona 5 had a lot). One negative point I have to say is that many cutscenes are like comic pages, with characters standing still and cut heads talking. That's a minor negative though, sine you get used to it, and the conversation is fun.

Yea unfortunately most of the scenes are in that format.

Publisher wouldn’t want to call out on someone hurting their sales?!?

They have better things to do than that?!?

It would be very difficult to prove it in court. If it fails, would be a waste of money and would also end up with even more bad publicity for Sony.

Sony kaha se aa gaya :ko:

KC said it’s just a matter of time before some big publisher calls out this idiot for spreading false rumours

Publisher who’s game is being shilled away as GP title

Sony kyu ayega beech mai ?!?

Also calling out someone publicly & ridiculing him for spreading false info has little to do with courts alone

Saying it could come to GP means nothing ,i am no laywer but i doubt you can sue someone for it.

Ya had he said its 100% coming when it wasnt  ,affecting the sales he could have been called out or maybe dragged to court.

Grubb is very smart when it comes to all this ,uses very safe wording when he is unsure or guessing  . But when you read some of the clickbait articles its totally opposite as always.

Amazing game so far, 10 hours in. Not grindy at all, combat is amazing. Visuals look very pretty on ps5.

Sad more people arent playing it, Bandai Namco shot themselves in the foot by making a marketing deal with Xbox, the audience is on playstation

I really liked the demo but not enough to buy at launch. I'll definitely get it in a sale.

The only thing which bugged me( in the demo, not sure if it's same throughout the game) is that most cutscenes were very mundane looking, like a visual novel

The cutscenes are in that format only sadly.

Also final game is much more polished than the demo, maybe demo was running ps4 version.

Welcome to a lot of Japanese devs. At least they are improving. In PS3/360 gen, they literally used to give JRPGs as timed exclusive or full exclusive to MS. Games like Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Star Ocean and many more were all exclusive. Then they cried when sales did not happen at all, even on PS and Nintendo because the game was old. Many of those devs have either ditched the idea and fired the heads who were responsible for those decisions/became low key mobile devs/have gone out of business altogether.

Anyway,I'm playing this on PC. The story is really good. It has great hooks on the plot. But I'm really not a fan of the side quests and "Standby Phases" (which includes bond episodes and gifts). They are boring and interaction is pretty much generic. They also serve to take out of the story - especially when it's getting interesting. They tried to copy Persona, but it failed spectacularly. The characters are not nearly deep enough or likable enough for that (Most are standard anime tropes).

I also don't like how they have tied gifts to the anime. I don't want to watch the anime and get spoiled on the main game's story before playing it. There literally is no point in connecting the two.

Gameplay is absolute ace though. A joy to play, and bosses and even trash mobs are fun.

Well that's a bummer. Not a big deal though as long the content itself is interesting.

The demo was a native PS5 port running close to or at native 4K iirc. It looked good to me.
