PS is affordable brand, but sony might not want to sell it, and M$ doesn't necessarily have much to gain out of it. Actually Microsoft tried to buy Nintendo for 25 billion dollars in 1999 but CEO Yamauchi didn't like the idea and believed that Microsoft lacked the understanding of the industry.
