Any good suggestions (MFs) for investing in US market? For ex, any funds holding Tesla stocks etc.

I found some like Parag Parikh, Nippon US equity opportunities etc which are fine but don't seem to have holdings in Tesla.

Also any other trusted mechanisms we can use to buy long term stocks in Nasdaq?

If you want to do US MF investing only stick to Index funds. Do not buy any actively managed fund. Some examples of index fund is MO Nasdaq FOF & MO S&P 500

Though keep in mind you DO NOT get equity tax benefits for these foreign funds.

Ok Thanks.

Will check them out. Regarding Actively managed funds, why do you recommend against it? is it due to it being High Risk or any other downsides.

For ex: I planned to do periodic  monthly investment in "Parag Parikh Long Term Equity Fund" and i understand it is of high risk but am ok with it.

US is a very matured market. Finding stocks that outperform the index is almost impossible hence makes no sense to invest in active mutual funds considering the higher expense ratio.

Some people say even in India it’s the same case. I am not 100% sure regarding that so you can do your own research if for Indian funds you want to stick to active or passive.

PPLTE is an Indian fund with majority holding in Indian stocks. I thought you were asking about investing into us stocks is why I mentioned about Nasdaq and S&P 500.

As for the tax part, profit on realisation of funds up to 1L is tax free for equity funds hence for more than a year. That’s not true for these funds investing in US equities as they are treaded as debt funds when it comes to taxes.

Yes my intention was to see if any MFs have majority holdings in US stocks and i believe the examples you shared are pretty good. Index funds seem to be safer bet for me.

Also TIL about LTCG for MFs. I was under an impression of Flat 10% after 1yr on all MFs :P but it ain't that straight forward , seems like

Thanks for your inputs :good:

not directly related to stock market, but I want to know where/how to find a decent auditor for IT related stuff ? I used one a couple of years ago, and received a notice from IT that I've to pay extra , when I contact him back to inquire, he's suddenly unavailable.  Went to another one based on referrals by a relative, and he too talks nicely on the phone and all that, but when asked to get stuff done, its always that he's busy / some other important stuff he's attending to :-/

I use cleartax most of the time for annual IT filing, and it works well, but sometimes when I need some consultation on matters I don't have information about, a good auditor is hard to come by !  Is there no firm/company of auditors or some service like that whom we can contact to get our queries answered ?

Which app is better for tracking portfolio? Especially if we have MFs in multiple accounts, stocks in another etc.?

Best if it allows free text fields as well to add up custom stuff

I use valueresearchonline

Thanks, will take a look. Was using on moneycontrol and didn't like the UI much

Yeah, it's much better than moneycontrol. I switched to VRO couple of years ago after using moneycontrol for 3-4 years.
