There is no such thing. Animals, especially dogs, are a product of their environment. So if the animal is caged and in a home where he isn't wanted, he will reflect that. If anything, Indian indie dogs are extremely intelligent because of generations of inculcating the survival instinct from having to fend for themselves on the streets.

They also have the potential to be the most loving and gentle, not to mention being the healthiest, while many "better" breed dogs start exhibiting health issues as the near the age of 10.

Yes, agree, they are suited to indian climate and more lasting and less susceptible to diseases.

Although the last German shepherd lived 15 years.

But not about the smart thing, German shepherds are considered the smartest of dogs and hence used a police dogs all over the world.

And, maybe he isn't happy here but at that time he used to be open all day.

I don't really discriminate between better breeds and this but the smart factor is there.

Also, he is not just destructive at home, but the first thing he does outside is pick fights with dogs and attack moving cars.

Actually, remembering there was also an incident which happened when he was very small that has made him like this.

you gotta spend time and train him or he'll become more frustrated living in cage all day and might attack.

My female dobie fell from 1st floor when she was only 3 months old and since then she's really scared of every new person maybe because of the trauma she felt. If some stranger gets really near to her she will pee but i spent 2+ hours daily training her watching youtube videos. She's all good now and feel confident.

Just spend time training him bro, its really sad to see a dog in cage. I've never caged or put a leash on either of my dogs. They go to walk with me without leash and ghar main bhi they're never constrained to one place. They sit where they feel like except the sofa's or bed.

This. It almost never is the fault of the dog.

He was attacked by a mad dog.

I thought this doge was an adult when you adopted him?

You mean you have him since he was a puppy?

Caging is definitely a priority for some time to make them hostile to everyone else than the family.

We keep dogs primary for security, other things are secondary.

Yes, it would sound bad but it is what it is and what more than 50% of people keep dogs for.

You sound like the man in the red sweater :(

That's a bad Indian way of making them aggressive to mess up their mind so they become aggressive. If you actually want dog for security either hire a trainer or train them watching youtube videos.

My dogs are for security as well and I wont say they're the best trained dogs but you cannot come near me without me allowing them and I've never caged them. :)

My cousin sent his great den and rottweiler for expensive taining and they came back spoilt : spoilt in a different sense with regards to security.

Licking and every strangers etc.

Again having a dog wasn't my call.

Spending on training is impossible, even doctor fees my family wasn't eager to give.

It is easy to say and do as well for some.

But now after risking the shoes many times, can't risk more.

Once someone's new shoes were bitten and the dog was made to leave.

Not everyone cares for dogs.

This is the pets thread, so these words would seem ridiculous but we humans kill goats by the number like anything so why is it wrong for someone to value his shoes more ?

I was against it and said it's your fault that you left the shoes out.

And it was I'll leave as well if he is made to stuff, now seems funny and childish that I tried to do that.

Also I came back with dengue that night.

But then he started to tear two wheeler seats and thus couldn't be helped and then caging all time was agreeable.

Now you're just picking up examples to support your logic and don't want to change.

Every guard dog has to be wary of strangers. Doesn't mean they have to be caged. That's such a wrong thing to do.

It's okay,

My previous dog felt his cage was his home and used to go there himself often.

I don't see a second option either, would have left him long ago if it was possible.

I m doing what I can or what I want to do : walking him thrice a day, let him free for half an hour and sit there : would increase this.

Caging dogs is done everywhere, yes not all the time is right, I agree.

But it is very basic.

Uhh, yes, doesn't seem right, better to leave him and live his life however he does if it comes to that, maybe he will learn with time.

Also, if he has urges again, would bring a cleaner dog with food inside for a few hours.

The last German shepherd had sex only on two separate occasions, maybe because he didn't see his mates, it was enough.

Also, just adding, there are people who do manual method as well with animals.(the way humans do with themselves)

Guys this might get brutally offensive but I don't mind being perma banned from IVG. I've read this Gunner's post a lot and can't keep quiet.

GunnerY2J , I don't think you should be allowed to keep any animals with you. Just knowing your mentality related to money and overall miserliness, makes me worried about the dog you have with you. What cleaner dog will you get from the streets? Will you look after the pups, I bet not. Will you feed them? I bet my life you won't. Hell, your cheap a*s admitted to not willing to pay for vet's fee. In the long run and in old age you are most likely to abandon this dog because it won't be useful to you anymore.

I know many such pet owners, just pure f**king morons and imbeciles looking to exploit voiceless animals.

Reading your posts in the past made me wonder how in this godforsaken planet will a miser like you feed the dog.

You want security for what? What will the thief steal. Listening to your idiotic reasoning, he'll abandon the theft.

You don't need a dog to exploit for guarding your house. Just try to make some money or for f**ks sake grow a pair.

This thread was for pet pics not f**king hearing you crib about the dog's behaviour. If you can't afford it don't keep a pet. What f**king security, guarding do you want? Who'll steal anything from you?
