Installation is branded. But the horror stories of rip off are ripe all over. I definitely overpaid but let it go requesting the guys to make sure they do a great job.

@Thegothamchampion Also remembered. LG does not include a 16A power plug in the box. So you either source it before hand or be at the mercy of the installation guys who pretend to walk out and get it for you at a cool 4x price. The thing costs barely 50-70 bucks but you will be charged astronomical for it. Also keep an eye on their copper measurements to be safe and to let them know that you’re not happy to be openly ripped off.

Remind them baksheesh milega bas kaam accha karo and give like 500/- if you’re convinced.

Thanks for advice man. My cousin owns a electrical equipment shop so I'll get the power plug before hand.

Okay thanks bro. Can you suggest a good AC?
General is best but expensive. Mitsubishi are in same league.

Then comes LG, Carrier, Daikin. Stay away from Samsung AC.

Bluestar and Voltas are below them but economical in price.

I have 3 Carrier at home doing absolutely fine and cooling is very good.

Got a 4 star LG inverter for lobby last year and it's quite good too. It's absolutely silent too. Have a 12 year LG window AC in guest room which still works good. LG service is obviously better than others. They even came for 2nd free service in march without even asking for it.

Whatever brand you buy make sure their service is good in your area as gas leak is a common issue in most AC's.

Will you let the maid back once this whole thing settles or carry on with the robo vac and dishwasher?

My only concern is the eventual return to work. Once that happens dunno if I’ll be able to manage even a dishwasher or rely on a maid. Also I’ll have to return back to cooking at least 3 out of 5 weekday evenings so there’s that.

Till we are all fully vaccinated no maid will be allowed. Also maid has to be fully vaccinated.

Dishwasher even in past few months when we had maid was used regularly. I prefer my glass utensils to be washed in dishwasher.

Robot is anyway superb, with the tiny one running around, I run it once again around 4 pm even after maid had cleaned up in morning. No effort and it still picks up dust.

These both are brilliant.

Same policy here man. Not taking any chance until we both are fully safe.

Same here won't recommend lg ACs the top tier level is definitely General and Mitsubishi go with heavy industries if planning for more than 2 Ton there cooling is way better and definitely most expensive they won't even give you copper pipes

I have 2 Carrier AC for last 5 years zero issues cooling is top notch, though service by carrier also has been very good and responsive very professional and trained people unlike LG folks who usually sends some uncle who would try certain things until it fails.

How’s the IFB front-loading Washing Machine? Wife is asking for Bosch seeing the performance of our Deshwasher.

I am thinking of getting rid of the Electrolux top-loading I have, every few months there is a service issue.

And problem is that Electrolux has ceased their service operations in India, and the technicians shove in parts of other manufactures.

yeah, I am seeing that there used to be some hardwater-stains in parts of glasses, which are impossible to clean with hand wash.
slowly with dishwasher washing, they are going off.

Is buying an AC online a good idea?

Sure. Have ordered from Amazon/FK. Decent price, and installation was handled by the company tech.

We bought a Bosch 13 place dishwasher it's 10k more than their starting range model but trust me that extra tray on the top for spoons/spatula/forks/small plates etc is a blessing. If you have a lot utensils go for the most no of place settings available for whichever brand you choose. Most of my relatives and frnds had good things to say about Bosch plus I have a couple of Bosch appliances in the kitchen so I got it. If you go for IFB/Voltas then go for the 15 place one but I don't k ow how those brands are for Dishwashers.

Happy overall but trust me we struggle because even we as a family have a lot of utensils and sometimes need to handwash a couple or run two cycles back to back.

Thanks. Was leaning towards Bosch as have been satisfied with their washing machine. It is definitely a step above in build quality and service over the likes of IFB etc. Will go for the 13 one.

Daikin. A specialised maker's products will generally be better than general electronics companies like LG, Samsung etc.

Totally wrong. You need to buy a General AC to see the difference. Try it next time.

Story time. My grandad used to tell us this. This was the early 80's, and he'd gotten two ACs installed in the house, which he'd gotten an offer on black. Someone had asked someone else to get them and that someone then didn't take delivery so my grandad took them. O'General. Window ACs. One of them lasted till 2011, I kid you not.

They were the first ACs in the house, probably in the neighbourhood, and were replaced by O'General too. But all our ACs now are Daikin inverter. O'General's service and pre and post sales is quite sub-par.

How would the robo vac do for a house with two floors? Even I'd like to automate daily cleaning. Thinking of running it when everyone's asleep, around 4AM; stealth mode :P

Bosch is better. The build is better, the service though costlier, is better.

Two floors, I think you will need to manually take it down once it's done with a floor. Also one charge won't be sufficient, buy two, one for each floor.

Deebot Ozmo 950 is great. Good vaccum, decent mopping. Comes with multi-floor mapping.

If you are only looking for vaccum then Deebot 500 or Eufy 15C Max/35C are great but they don't come with mapping even for a single floor which is a bummer. But if you can pet it a little then should be doable.

What model for the washing machine are you narrowing down on? I too am in the market for it once the lockdown ends and was thinking about IFB, Bosch or LG.

We have this 18 year old IFB machine that has now finally conked off.

I have iLife A9s, some one I know owns it.

Xiaomi is good too.

Just need one that does vacuuming/sweeping etc. Don't need mopping, I can do that myself.

There are so many options there are confusing af.

Something not too expensive, under 20k. Also something I can just turn on and not bother about it.
