Criminals steal £600,000 of games from UK police

Recommended Posts

Criminals have stolen GBP 600,000 worth of videogames from a police compound just hours after they had been confiscated, according to The Sun.

High profile titles, including Grand Theft Auto IV and 16,000 copies Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway, had been stolen in Northampton, UK, as the driver rested and loaded into the blue Renault lorry, later seized by the police. However, the secured depot where the truck was being stored was broken into, with the vehicle later being discovered without its valuable contents.

"We are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry, including eBay transactions where a number of the games have been potentially identified as being advertised for sale. Arrests have already been made in respect of this," said a police spokesperson.

Ubisoft, publisher of Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, added: "Fans needn't worry as more stock is being parachuted in."
