landmarktiger
Just beat the game - was a pretty short game - i think it can easily be done in a few hours - it only seems longer because people have to repeat the same section over and over till they figure out how to beat each enemy. I did the mage thing thats why i found it "easy" i think - being mage is like cheating in RPGs I even did all the black and white tendency events and picked up every possible treasure. Now i am going to use the glitch to max out my soul level to 712 and try out all the playing styles and the gears and pwn NG+ and maybe some PvP (too bad hardly anyone plays this game anymore)- when is dark souls releasing here i want to make sure and play that game when everyone else is playing it so i can actually find people for PvP? CM Sunny
sh*t now the plat looks pointless btw are trophies disabled if you glitch?
landmarktiger
Not sure - i dont think they are disabled since this is a glitch and wasnt intended by the developers - but never really cared much for trophies and achievements. landmarktiger
Just reached NG+++ love my northern regalia and PWCT - I am on SL 120 - anyone wanna coop or pvp let me know -I have been playing on the US server and there is a TON of PvP action going on if you are around SL120 - the pvp is so deep and rich with so many different builds. However its a bit laggy playing from here and keep getting disconnect errors i dont know if this is because the problem with the demons souls servers or the problem is because i am playing on the US servers from India. I just love this game and i cant wait for dark souls. Edited September 13, 2011 by landmarktiger
Aftrunner
So how exactly does this game save? I was doing pretty good after the tutorial. Was 45 minutes or so into the first level (right after that flying mini dragon does a bombing run on the bridge) and accidentally fell of a staircase and died. And it put me right back at the beginning. Is that normal? Does it really not save anywhere at all during a "mission"? Cause thats a deal breaker for me. I dont always have 1+ hour to sit down and play non stop. I got sh*t to do. Edit Also any link to a downloadable guide or manual. The one I have is in all Chinese. :| Edited September 19, 2011 by Aftrunner
Shadoken
Just get through the tutorial level.... once ur done with that , the game constantly saves ur stats/items...etc.... as for the levels once you kill a boss/sub-boss you reach save points and you can warp to them whenever... Your souls are dropped at the location where you died (rather slightly before where you died to be precise). You die again, you lose your earlier set of souls. Your stats and equipment remains the same as when you died. All monsters (exccept some black phantoms that were already killed, etc) will be revived. You can quit the game anytime and resume it from where you quit. To complete a level you need to finish it without dying. Ah. Ok that makes sense. Anyway, I named my character Barristan Selmy. So, rather unsurprisingly doing pretty much Ok with the combat so far. Only deaths have been falling. :|

I dont always have 1+ hour to sit down and play non stop. I got sh*t to do. I was initially worried about this too.. Try to not let it be a deal breaker. Each death is a learning experience.. The next time you play that level, you'll reach where you were very soon if you know what you are doing, so that in the end definitely no level should take more than 1 hour (IIRC). Bulovski
The death works exactly like Diablo II. You die, you start at the beginning. Go back to reclaim your souls. There are shortcuts which can be enabled at certain points in levels to circumvent enemies. I am absolutely ok with the game not allowing any pause - this is more of an online game and when there are a ton of white shadows running around the game looks so amazing. You actually feel you're in a battle against the world.

O and if you are finding athe game too hard just read the wiki walkthroughs - i actually kept dying from the red eye knight in 1-1 till i read the walkthrough and figured out you are supposed to come back for him much later . You will fell very frustrated at times from having to start over but trust me in the end it will be worth it. Aftrunner
I am not really finding it hard, just tedious. And I never went to that knight. There was a note on the ground (excellent idea BTW) that said to avoid that place till you are a little stronger.

For my first playthrough some of the bosses literally took me 50 tries - armored spider and king allant but once i figured out the attack patterns and a good strategy i go through them on first try for every new NG and i am on NG4+ - im not leveling up my character either ( i stopped at 120 since thats where usually all the pvp and coop happens). Aftrunner
Killed the first boss (with ease I might add), the chick asks me if I want to use the demons soul. Should I do it now or save up? Also how/when do I level up my abilities? Edit These seem like basic questions. I really wish the manual wasnt in Chinese. I really wish the manual wasnt in Chinese. never consume DS, store it with Thomas & use it for spells once you unlock freke & yuria or urbain. Now you need to visit monumental on 2nd floor, its a buddha like statue say yes to its question & then you can lvl up via the sexy demon chick
Aftrunner
Ok so another question. This one might be a bit silly but better safe than sorry. So I am playing (what I assume) is a Chinese/HK/whatever edition of this game which I borrowed from the library. I am picking up the game from Flipkart for keeps. But I am guessing that would be the EU version probably. Will changing versions like that mid game make my save games incompatible?
R a g h u
I think yes. Saves and game data might be locked to a specific region. And since the online is also restricted to different regions, the saves might be locked.
Aftrunner
Oh f**k. I shouldnt have started with the library copy.
