Demon's Souls

Parry is extremely satisfying. With some decent armour you can always take chances. With those skeletons I usually took the super safe approach of luring them, hit with soul arrow and run like hell. Else I would roll behind enemies and back stab them.

The worst generic enemies are:

Giants in the swamp

Invisible assassins in 4-2

Assassins in the palace

Autosave, look for the indicating foggy white symbol in the upper right corner to see it- when it disappears, the game has saved.

There is no pause to immerse you in the experience, you cant just stop the game when you are about to die and eat grass till full life.

Give it a chance, its a great game-

(to test saving just eat a grass, or change an equip item like weapon, you will see it save)

Best of luck, dont give up!

I managed to find my way to kill armor spider....he is difficult but if you know then it just needs bit of patience and luck....anyways the game is too time consuming and most part of it i feel is unnecessary ....coz it makes it boring and tiring at same time...as number of times you die and number of times you can killed so easily with one small mistake or such and then the time it takes it to load and start all over again ....really makes it very sick ....even when you are doing good and you manage to have survive with lot of souls and you go to nexus to use it and return to the world... it again starts all over again....this is very frustrating and i totally dont support this part atleast....

It is exactly that part of the game that also makes it unique .... its just like classic NES games where once you die its back to the starting of the level .... it forces you to learn enemy patterns, make less mistakes and become better at the game , unlike modern games where story/cinematic gameplay..etc has become the main focus instead of gameplay and challenge...

People tend to play better when they know the consequence of losing is painful :P.... btw if you travel at a one of those stones you can travel back to the same point ... so basically each world is divided into 4 parts.... if you finish one segment and a boss you dont have to play that again...

Finished it!

The second half of the game is CONSIDERABLY easier compared to the first half. And the final bosses of 2, 4, 5 are a total cakewalk. 3 was easy too but getting to the f**ker with those red Cthulhu monsters was a proper pain in the a*s, assholes just destroy you in a moment in that narrow stairway.

Also 5-2 and 3-1 were horrible levels. Not cause they were difficult (infact 5-2 is easier than 5-1 IMO) but simply because the level design is abysmal. Its too dark and everything looks the same, its way too easy to get lost. Aside from that, quite enjoyed it. Good game.

5 as a world is horrible - the gains are few, and it's so easy to die. The darkness is deliberate because it plays some tricks with perspective (giant goblins). I remember 3 being quite easy - depends on the character I guess.

3 was the worst for me. 3-1 was bad because of the horrible level design and goes on for too long. 3-2 was ok. 3-3 had those red glowing Cthulhu monsters which killed me in 1-2 attacks and I had nowhere to dodge except back which doesnt always work.

I didnt really mind 5, like I said, it wasnt really tough (think I only died once in the whole world of 5) but 5-2 again had horrible level design.

Oh and hopefully if Dark souls comes to the PC someone can mod in a pause button. Yeah, yeah its atmospheric and all that sh*t but people have lives. You might get a phone call, you might have some at the door, someone might want to talk to you. To assume that all gamers are antisocial enough to ignore everything is just f**king retarded.

I dont care if the weapon switching/inventory etc is still real time, thats fine by me. It does build up tension and excitement. So even if the pause menu just freezes the game to a black screen would be enough. I have sh*t to do outside of videogames.

Please - all gamers haz no lives. Some of them like Miley Cyrus and Twilight.

The no pause feature has its own magic though- it brings some frustration yes, but i find the depth it brings worth the price.

Of course once youve played both games as much as i have you learn to tap through the pause menu lightning fast and exit the game mid battle before you die- :exoticdance:
