Only hope is overcast conditions, Which would assist our pacers. If its sunny then it will be over in the first session itself. Bairstow-Root-Stokes if these 3 are out with more than 50 runs to chase we can make a match from there.

harsh1387
India had many issues this game - Fielders dropped too many catches. Didn't bat well at all in 2nd innings. Bowling barring shami and Bumrah was mediocre. Should have played Ash. Our openers were missing. Gill is useless against moving ball. Kohli should be dropped. Iyer can't play short ball to save his life. Vihari doesn't know how to score and only defends and has such low range of shots that he doesn't even looks like a top 5 batter. On a flat pitch against England in their current form India needed atleast 550+ to defend. Only few positives - Bumrah Captaincy and bowling was good. Liked his calmness especially with DRS. Pant and jaddu batting was absolutely brilliant. Pujara is back to his fav position and in some decent form. County did help him. Shami bowling was outstanding. Only if he had some luck on his side. Big Boss
"In the first innings, Kohli attracted detractors when he and Bairstow were involved in a heated exchange. At first, Kohli sledged Bairstow, saying to him, "a little bit quicker than Southee, eh?", indicating that the Indian pace attack was much superior than the New Zealand bowling line-up against whom Bairstow scored a century." What a loser. Insulted Southee too. https://www.hindustantimes.com/cricket/the-most-dislikeable-cricketer-ever-english-media-slams-virat-kohli-s-embarrassing-and-pathetic-viral-celebration-101657008576962.html
AtheK
Instead of putting his head down and acknowledge that he is a shadow of what he used to be, he is just making sure that everyone is slowly turning against him. Forget English media, our own country man have been laughing at what he did. earlier hai batting used to overshadow this stupidity, now stupidity is all that is on display. 1

Bairstow has scored more Test runs in the last 25 days than Kohli has in the last 18 months. 2

TAZ
Sad to see that people talking like this for Kohli, Just couple of years earlier he was god for us, Saving us In every game. This aggressiveness helped us win lots of games, Just once it backfired and media is all over him . He will be back to what he was, There is no way management is benching a player like him. I was too young back then but I do remember Sachin had a lean patch too not sure about the years but he came back strongly. It's unfortunate in Kohli's case that covid came during his lean period making it more difficult to comeback due to these bio-bubbles. Just my 2 cents on the ongoing meme's & News around Kohli.

Sachin's lean patch was not for 3 years. Moreover, one needs to spend time in the middle to get over your bad form. Kohli is not playing domestic or county cricket to enable this. You won't get into form for test cricket by playing IPL.
DinJo
Also Sachin always used to score a century on his comeback. The major difference between virat and Sachin is Virat is more flat track batsmen and mostly scores with shots away from body probably the reason why he has failed in England so badly. Just hoping he starts scoring runs as it does seems to be very confident while playing but runs just don't come

It shows that everyone had enough of Virat's tantrums and unnecessary fight pickings. This is his "See you at the Gabba" moment. radicaldude
I personally feel Kohli has been figured out by bowlers around the world. This just proves Kohli doesn't have the wide range of shots for every bowler which Tendulkar had. Tendulkar was way superior to Kohli. He had proper technique, which worked for him even when he got older. I think Kohli relies more on reflexes (like Steve Smith) which have slowed down as he's slowly but surely ageing. Also, Tendulkar had 0 percent arrogance. Kohli (now) is only arrogance. And that matters a lot.

DinJo
They are thinking of resting pant Kohli and Bumrah for WI series. Why do Kohli need to rest? unless they want to make it or break it for Kohli in eng t20 series. If kohli is not in form probably wi series could be good scoring opportunity and if he even fails there then don't consider him for t20 world cup. Because they don't want Kohli to score runs against minnows and then continue the way he is. T20 series should be make or break for him and he shouldn't be guaranteed place in every match.
