san_Assassin
BCCI likely to remove Rohit Sharma as Test captain after Windies tour On the wrong side of 35, Rohit’s last Test series as the captain is likely to be India Tour of West Indies. After the IND vs WI series, selectors will discuss a new captaincy choice before South Africa tour. Although out of form, Rohit can prevent that situation if he rakes in significant amount of runs against West Indies. Rohit will lead Indian in the two-Test series in the West Indies. Following that, he is likely to sit with BCCI and decide on his future in the longest format. “These are baseless stuff that Rohit will be removed from captaincy. Yes, whether he will last the whole two-year WTC cycle is a big question as he would be nearly 38 when the third edition ends in 2025,” a senior BCCI source in the know of things told PTI on conditions of anonymity. Since Rohit took over Test captaincy in 2022, India played 10 Tests and he missed three — one in England due to COVID-19 and two in Bangladesh due to split webbing. He scored 390 runs in 7 Tests and had an average of 35.45 in 11 completed innings with a single hundred and no other score above 50. In that same phase, Virat Kohli played all 10 Tests, scoring 517 runs in 17 innings with 186 against Australia at Ahmedabad being his best. Cheteshwar Pujara in the same phase played eight Tests and scored 482 runs in 14 innings with two unbeaten knocks at an average of 40.12. But one needs to factor, scores of 90 and 102 came against a weak Bangladesh attack. The selectors know that in the next three years, all three big players on the wrong side of 35 can’t constitute the top-order of India and hence tough calls will be required, looking at future. link

Banz
England declared on Day 1 on a flat pitch when they were actually batting well and could have added 30-50 extra runs. Kuch jyada hi maaj hai Bazball ka. I hope the Aussies bat till Day 4 to show them how stupid that was.

This would be everyone's reaction including mine and this may still come back at to haunt them however it looks like England have so much clarity on what they want to do, that carefree attitude is helping them. How would you otherwise explain their bowling performance today when Australia was 338 for 5 and still ending up trailing by 7 runs?. On such a flat wicket with 30+ over ball, England still managed to take out 5 wickets (although tail enders) with sheer planning, having fielding setup for their plans. It looks like there are truly sticking to what Stokes said before Ashes that they want to entertain no matter the results!!
Big Boss
That field setup for khwaja's wicket was unreal. Never saw such field ever

That was very well planned and executed but it still doesn't change the poor declaration decision. They might still win but think of how close this chase has been throughout day and how valuable those 30-40 runs would have been for England. harsh1387
Cummins was an excellent choice as Captain for Aussies. Ice cool in the chase. Never flinched, never went over aggressive, rotated strike and made sure Lyon plays as less as possible. Very Sensible stuff which is rarely seen these days of Bazball stuff. Khawaja was great both innings and Rightly Player of the match. Robinson is really stupid to sledge him both innings when he is bowling his dibbly dobbly 125-130 speed. Lyon picked 8 wickets in the game (maximum by any bowler both side). But, Indian Management is still wondering how can an off spinner pick wickets in England. Plus he made valuable runs in that partnership which sealed the game. Shows how right selections make win or loss decisions. So, Aussies- 1 Bazball- 0 Oh and yeah England media and fans still defending that first day declaration. They don't get a simple fact. A drawn game would have given them useful WTC points or they might have even won with 50 more runs who knows. Declaring on first day on a surface and conditions which were favorable for batting is a really stupid Captaincy decision.

eddy4823
Amazing match. India should learn a lesson or two from Aussies. Opener stands in both innings and Captain takes charge, cumming to bat at No. 8 and scoring 40+ to guide his team to victory. Also taking wickets while bowling.
