Clutch performance from all lower order batsmen.
Nitish although got out for only 15, played 61 balls and showed lot of patience and composure.

Top order should learn from these guys

Everytime nitish starts his inning with a perfect shot, me in my mind thinking he will definitely score century this time:P

But Aussie dont deserve respect, bcs its them whose ego and arrogance is bigger than the mt everest. Itna ego kyu hai salo me, majority of australian dont even know their names. They have done lot of bad sh*t, monkey gate kand, calling out ganguly's affair, sand paper and what not. Mera to tab bhi mood kharab ho gya tha jab kohli ne smith ke support me audience se appeal ki thi.

So you want our players to behave in the same way?

Anyways lets just agree to disagree and stop here  There is no right or wrong here just different perspectives and I doubt the conversation will go anywhere.

1 bad series, recognizes decline and retires to make way for youngsters

Pure match winner.
Thank You Ashwin :majesty:

Now for the other 2 to take cue.

True, But I don't think BCCI will allow them to retire anytime in the near future, till the time Indian public finds god in a new player. That's the harsh reality of Indian Cricket, People worship these players & If they retire the viewership declines hence the BCCI & Broadcasters want them to play little longer.

PS: This is my point of view :fear1:, Can be wrong too.

I think bumrah has reached that status now.

Not that of kohli of course but near Rohit sharma.

He truly was a match winner, clear thinker and always trying to improve his skills. But something about this sudden retirement feels like another BCCI/team level screw up than him doing it.

Knowing the way he speaks about the game and his own way to approach the game, he would have been very clear when he wanted to retire! He would have made the decision by end of NZ series if he had decided. The fact that he is flying back tomorrow also seems fishy, I hope I am wrong and he made this decision all by himself.

He truly deserved a send off and guard of honour from both India and opposition!

He wont be playing a test match again till end of next year.

The next series we have is against England in England, its very clear that team prefers jaddu / washinton for overseas tests for their batting.
Guess that forced his decision

This I agree with as a one of the reason for his retirement however what is surprising is to do it in the middle of ongoing series.

The fact that he played in Adelaide tells me it is something else, because he would have played in Sydney for sure but I hope you are right and it is nothing else.

TBH really doesn't matter even if there's any sort of rift.

I'm fairly convinced this is Rohit's last series as well. Might be Virat's as well if he doesn't perform and we lose.

Team is getting new leadership and old guard is being phased out, rightly so.

yup looks like BCCI is cleaning house with the gun pointed from GG shoulder. And anytime there is a transition in our cricket someone will always end up as the villain.
