It's unknown until the game releases, TBH. For some games, there is the option to upgrade. Games like Hogwarts Legacy, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have the option to upgrade. But for others, there isn't. For example, Horizon: Forbidden West. It totally depends on if they will release the Deluxe Edition upgrade as a separate add-on. If they do, you can upgrade.
