Sacrificing a grenade and melee option for an extra gun (which isn't that powerful to begin with) seems a bit of bad idea. I did use it quite a bit in Halo 2. Aftrunner Posted September 15, 2009 Report Share Posted September 15, 2009 It was good in Halo 2 as long as you were dual wielding it. In halo 3 you would be better off using harsh language against an opponent than picking up the plasma rifle. In Halo 1 it was fantastic. Decent accuracy and good damage. It ate through shields. I guess they brought in the carbine to (sort of) replace it and the Carbine is fantastic but I still miss the rifle. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
