Quantum Theory

@karoo Im not very hopeful about Tecmo these days. They arent what they used to be before. This generation they made it big with Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive. But remember that was all Itagaki. Agreed that games are made by big teams and all, but in Japan its basically one guy who drives them all and with Itagaki gone the future of those franchises is doubtful.

Quantum I feel will not be OMFG brilliant, but it can be good.

The only other titles from Tecmo coming out are Fatal Frame ones on Wii that are actually good and Metroid: Other M...which I think has no chance of failing...Nintendo will make sure of that.

Quantum Theory Gears Up For March Release On PS3, 360

Tecmo's third-person shooter Quantum Theory has a release date (okay, window) for North American Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners looking for, well, I guess something new to play.

The newly multiplatform "TPS" follows the Gears of War gameplay and aesthetic closely, adding in an AI-controlled co-op partner and an organic shapeshifting tower as the game's battleground. Our most recent hands-on with the game didn't exactly inspire us to start camping out for our own copies of Quantum Theory, but we'll be interested to see how it has progressed since Tokyo Game Show.

Japanese Quantum Theory enthusiasts will get the game on March 25, but Tecmo Koei America is still withholding the exact date for those of us in America. Expect it not too closely to Final Fantasy XIII and God of War III, also releasing in March.

Quantum Theory Bosses Revealed

[uPDATE] TECMO’s PS3 action game is hotting up.

Quantum Theory might be heading to the Xbox 360 but that hasn’t stopped TECMO

concentrating on the PS3 version, and these latest shots go some way to prove that the game is still very much one to watch out for. The screens came bundled with a text-heavy JPG rather than a press release so I’m having to type this out myself – that’s the kind of guy I am. Ahem.

So, anyway, Syd and Filena are battling to save a ravaged Earth from the powered of the Dark Tower and stem the infection sweeping the globe. They’ll encounter, so I’m told, enemies so vast that team work will be the only way they’ll manage to defeat them. To celebrate the notion of team work, here are some of the baddies you’ll be facing up against.

^^is it just me or the details in the game is of kinda ps2 era..gameplay is looking to be fun.

I don't know, I thought it looked decent. Maybe Youtube is to blame.

Yeah, it looks fun. But the slower cover-and-shoot sections kinda remind me of Gears Of War, though the characters move much quicker.

The gameplay video looked fantastic. Its as close to a Gears clone as one could have imagined without C-C-P'ing the Gears source code and replacing the character names. It even looks like Unreal Engine III and if that video is running on the PS3, then Tecmo should seriously share their UE3 work with other devs who are using UE3 on the PS3.

Delayed.

We can confirm that Quantum Theory has been moved to later in 2010. We feel the game deserves optimum development time, and we aim to deliver the very best title we can. We are still thoroughly committed to Quantum Theory and this short delay can only make for a stronger, more entertaining game," the publisher told Eurogamer in a statement.

Took them long enough to realize the game might not be up to it. Polish that turd Tecmo.
