vinitwins
the op lists 3 major clans on gi - is that it? would like everyone's suggestions on how we can spice things up: a. gi sponsored clan wars - online & offline (if possible) b. official clan forums - access restricted to clan members c. assign ranks within clans - try and incorporate some sort of leveling up program; every clan should induct & train new members d. try and establish official gi leagues for popular mp games if we're ever going to realise the possibility of pro-gaming in india, we need to make a start. Dienekes
Great thing V Lets kick start this ASAP But, will it just be limited to 360? the GI sponsored clan wars would really be a full-house show

I have been saying that for a long time now! Vinit, thanks a lot for taking the initiative I have a point system in mind... It's actually kinda complex but I think it can help with the leveling thing! If you're interested, I can give you a link to the point system. a. gi sponsored clan wars - online & offline (if possible) Totally up for it! b. official clan forums - access restricted to clan members I don't think that the access should be restricted but a section can always be dedicated to the Clan Members every clan should induct & train new members Something like "Adopt a Gamer" which is followed by some leagues. It's actually a VERY good idea and I am personally very interested in it. A lot of ppl could learn a lot about the games (I mean from a competitive perspective) d. try and establish official gi leagues for popular mp games Great idea! V Great idea Vinit lets hope this thing works it about time we had an official GI tourney for FPS and why not start with Halo the most popular FPS game in the world... vinitwins
guys, this isn't something that gi can do by itself - it will require continuous support from every clan member and core gamer. why don't you post your suggestions on this thread, gi will provide whatever support it can, but this initiative is totally community dependent. you will determine how to & how much to push it further. my 2 cents on how we can kick-start this right now: 1. reboot/refresh some of the established clans - yes, it might cause a lot of heatbreak and arguments, but in might help in inducting new gamers into a semi-professional gaming setup. 2. setup gi-supported leagues for gow2 wingman (will promote inter clan rivalry as well ), kz2, or whichever games you guys wanna drive - case in point is the fifa 09 league. dan is the heart and soul behind it, gi is just a medium. 3. plan for offline tourneys (once/twice a year) - gi will try and provide back-end support with regards to event execution (sponsorships, location, equipment etc) another line of thought is that since sponsorships are few and far between (for now), we could consider a pay and play model - guys participating in gi approved events need to cough up an entrance fee, which can then be used to fund prizes for the winners. i'm reiterating, gi will try and provide whatever support it can, but the fate of pro-gaming (on consoles in india) squarely rests on you guys. TRMNTR
@ Vinit I'll suggest keeping a "TEST" GI Tourney for something like Fifa '09 or GoW2 considering they have a larger audience. This will tell you how many people/clans are actually interested in playing. The reason behind this is that, here, almost everyone is interested but when the time comes, somebody backs out!
