Saumil
Since most people here are asking what rFactor is: In a nutshell, it's a barebones racing game with a realistic physics engine. It has little to none developer provided content and is marketted as a modding platform. Once sold, the simracing modding community takes over and starts creating 100% free content for other users. Now while some of you might wonder how such a model could ever work and whether relying on the community is being too optimistic, the fact is that the simracing modding community is a huge scene (probably the biggest in the industry) and is known to churn out better-than-professional quality content on a regular basis. I recently got to review a G27, and of the 6 games I tested on it, rFactor was the only one that fully supported it. peace

Too cumbersome, too many cables, and requires a dedicated setup. I'd rather settle for a DFGT. peace

HundredProofSam
When you're charging $300 for a wheel (25k in India) you damn well better make it wireless. 4 cables sticking out of the wheel is more than I'm willing to live with to enjoy a good sim. Review should be up on Tech2 one of these days. peace

MarketTantrik
There's a store here selling a brand new DFGT for approx INR6000/-. Worth it?
Karooo
Yup its optimized for GT5. Get it that's the wheel they use all the time.
HundredProofSam
6k is good, but I've seen US stores listing it for as low as $75, but of course bringing it back to muscat would be a pain. MRP is $150 and it retails for 10k here. I need to check if it works well with the PC sims. If so, I'm gonna pick up the DFGT before GT5 hits (assuming PD doesn't release another wheel :|) peace

Some screenshots I took from the GTR 2 port of the same mod (everything you see, cars/tracks/sounds/physics/etc. is user created ):

aqswde
some of the mods for pc sims(f1 challenge 99-02 rfactor gtr2 race07 etc) are truly mind blowing...a group that used to mod f1 challenge were so good they have their own development company now (talking about simbin for those who know). the original models, tracks were not even close to them... u guys want a racing game to play until gt5 try race-on, live for speed or iracing...but be careful if ur communicating with a iracing fan...dont ever call it a game...ull be abused and be told ITS A SIMULATOR NOT A GAME..
