Gran Turismo 5 Spec II

People will find a way around. Don't worry :P

That'd be true if this were a PC title.

The GT5 track editor sounds more like a layout editor. You'll be able to use some preset assets like guard-rails and armcos to create a custom path through an empty parking lot type of area.

we haven't seen it yet. I still have my hopes. If it were a mere layout editor, then it's already been done in PGR3. This is GT yaar. I'm sure it'll be different.

Eau Rouge would be an awesome addition.

Eau Rouge is not a track but a corner of Spa Francorchamps circuit , its regarded as the best corner in motor racing.

GT5-Best 3D game yet!!

I’m just going to come out and say this right now. Gran Turismo 5 is the best game I’ve ever played with 3D glasses on. How good was it? I actually felt I was driving the Tuscan dirt roads at dusk. All I needed was virtual wind blowing through my hair and the smell of earth and I would be there.I’ve seen other games in 3D glasses before. Killzone 3 was good. Crysis 2 was so beautiful it made my eyes bleed. But in terms of realism, nothing could touch this combination of racing sled, racing wheel, Bravia TV, glasses and head tracking. Yes, I said head tracking. At E3, this setup had a PlayStation Eye camera trained on me and it worked so well that when I turned my head, the perspective would shift left or right. I could now use my mirrors in this cockpit view.

3 different physics types

I’ve just got back from the beta rooms event in Birmingham. Played gt5 in 3D. The 3D effect was very subtle on the example I saw. The physics were excellent. There was beginner, intermediate and pro. Pro seemed v similar to gt academy demo. Extremely difficult on the narrow roads of the nurburgring. Intermidate was a great compromise of difficulty and feel. Beginner was similar to prologue standard. Graphics were excellent but we already know this. Toscana was beautiful, especially to day to night transitions and the way the headlights pick up different sign posts etc. Handling was slippy as you’d expect, nothing unusual for a rally racing game. There were however variations in the road surface, going from sand up gravel to some harder stuff ( not quite Tarmac). Damage was a lot more dramatic than I’ve seen on previous videos circling the web. Saw some people mash their cars up pretty good. Polyphony can now say they have the best damage physics on a console driving sim. Didn’t notice anydamage affecting the car handling. Thing that most impressed me? Probably the feel given by the new physics. Probably the best I’ve experienced from a driving game. Pretty close to real driving, and that is a massive complement. Spoke to a Sony guy about a uk release date, he said the “20th of November or around there”. Sorry if my writing is poor, I’m typing this on my phone.

Damage

Went to BETA event today unfortunatley camera battery died before I got to record footage of nascar. The car was awesome as it had actual deformation damage and looked miles ahead of anything we have seen of the damage for GT5 except for the trailer. The rear bumper crumpled and deformed quite a bit exactly where I hit it. The other cars had damage like all other previous demos but the nascar damage was on another level. Hopefully someone recorded some nascar footage.

Next up for something slightly less exotic but certainly no less exciting, alongside the Signature Edition at launch we will be offering the Gran Turismo 5 Collector's Edition. This version of the game will have a recommended retail price of 79.99 Euros.

All of the 6 pre-order vehicles in what Polyphony has titled the 'Stealth' range feature both performance and livery enhancements to give you that little extra edge in-game.

A dazzling array of content, I’m sure you will agree, but what makes this very special of special editions, well…very special, is a rather unique competition. Those lucky enough to get their hands on the Signature Edition (quantities are going to be strictly limited) will be able to enter an extraordinary competition that will combine in-game and real world driving challenges – the prize at the end of these two stages? A real Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG supercar.

:surprise:

179 euros is 11k almost, should be 12 -14k here :\

But is the Signature edition coming here?

edit :

That being so expensive, we may not directly order it from Europe, but we could bring in limited quantities from Sony in the Middle East.
