Yay It was an independent IP,the remaster being multiplatform would have given good indication. M$ made a big mistake back then not investing in this IP more & churn out turds like Ryse,Quantom Break,ReCore etc.

I enjoyed it properly (only gameplay) because ofcourse Remedy. The story could've been better but man those snooze fest live action was ridiculous to the core. Mysteryman
Alan wake is a fun game but gets quickly repetitive. Wonder what they will do to alleviate it in this sequel.

Or played it back when it was Xbox exclusive?!? If former than obviously it won’t hold up in today’s age. But back then it was a very unique & kick a*s crisp horror game with it’s light & darkness gun play. It was the only game on Xbox which wasn’t gears or halo but still was comparable to Sony Exclusives.

But some remasters hold up well in this age like Mass effect legendary edition.

dylanjosh
Alan Wake was absolutely the type of game that deserved a sequel. They had a great core concept but the whole game was a little rough. I remember it was supposed to be open world and then they made it linear. First game got a lot better in the second half, the first half was a chore, and badly written too, the dialogues. But it got better n better. American Nightmare was bad though. Glad they are moving away from action gameplay to survival horror, can't wait to see what Remedy does in the genre.
Guest
Quote Remedy writer and Alan Wake 2 co-director Sam Lake sits down with IGN's Ryan McCaffrey for an exclusive interview to discuss some higher-level details of the long-anticipated sequel, from why it's going to be a full-on survival horror game to its powerful Northlight game engine and more!
