Fluidic Verna 1.6 CRDI comes to 12 on road in Mumbai. So that won't save her anything. Rapid is a very blah car, I find the Vento better. For unto 12, if petrol is ok the Civic is still a good car to buy, though admittedly kinda old.

My friend had booked the 2nd level model of verna for 9.8 on road about 7-8 months back, he managed to get a penn passing but that only saves around 40k

Had TD'ed the petrol version of the car a while back, it was very underwhelming for me. If your average use is less than 8k Kms per year, then go for the civic. If you have heavy usage then go for the fluidic verna. Would even save u close to 2 lacs

Hmmm.. I like Verna too. My Dad wanna buy a Sedan so was looking for options. How is Altis? Dad like Cruze but I don't like it.. Let's see. :scratchchin:

The second level is 1.4 and is without any bells like climate control, steering mounted controls, electrically foldable ORVM etc.

Does your dad drive by himself or is there a chauffer? For a chauffer driven car the new Altis Diesel is a best option it has actual mileage of 20, but I think it's in the range of 14-15. If your dad drives himself then u just cannot go wrong with manual cruze it has mileage of 13 , but even for the basic version u would have to stretch the budget and the basic version is completely bare bones. If your dad is OK with petrol cars then go for civic without any look around u just cannot go wrong with that car, have been driving it for more than 4 years and I still love that car, plus the honda customer service is A+
